I agree to a point.. However I still feel that they shouldn't have performed if they were going to lipsynch I believe because it was America they wanted to try and 'break' through, so they did the gig anyway. I don't think the band would have been happy doing it, however I don't know how they feel, they may have made this desicion themselves. As Peyton said they cancelled the European tour because of his laryngitis, however because its America they went through with it. I hope they don't do this if they come to the UK, I also hope its not going to become a common thing. This is causing a nuts storm 0_0
**ahah nuts, thats funny.

Wwelll... If you're a good musician, you ARE a great musician. you DO NOT mime. if your voice isn't good enough. Don't perform. And sorry if this seems harsh, but when Bill got sick with laryngitis, they cancelled the EU tour, because he couldn't sing. why didn't he mime then? Yet when his voice isnt "up to scratch" now, no way will they cancel it, Its the US right? Its like, "lets go on stage no matter what, US Fans." Im not sure if im making sense, us Polish not always do. Yeah, but they've already broken almost all of the EU (apart from the UK.) Whereas in America there are still parts that they need to 'break,' and the band's management would probably think there'd be a lot of bad press (moreso than lipsynching) if they suddenly stopped the tour. To be honest, I think it's a way to get it over and done with faster. ;D Just think of it that way, that they wanna get America done and then never go back. A bit farfetched, and silly, but hey - saying that keeps my hopes up.

I seriously used to pray that they wouldn't do lipsynching in tv shows and stuff but live now? oh come on. I can't forgive them for that. I can't be mad with them for long but that-grah =/ people payed a lot of money to see them and see them actually perform not look at them acting along to the song of a cd. seriously. gah! no no no-big nono.

(I am soo behind!!) I think this is ridiculous! I mean just why guys, why?? Why on Earth put themselves up for this sort of critisism??? I mean I remember back to PDP and how awesome they all sounded live... I mean I know I've been against te whole America-thingy but the poor fans paying good money to see them play LIVE and this is what they do. America has done it's worst and made them lip-syncing fakes...

Okay, they shouldn't have synched for something like this, but like some people have already said, son't you think they'd have had a good, or ~half decent~ reason for synching? They're not just gunna do it for the hell of things. It's TH for crying out loud :/

There is no good reason to lip sync. Sorry, but TH or not, there is not a good reason to ever sing playback to a live audience. I accept that some TV shows are mimed, even though I think that sucks just as well (I can't think of any of my other favourite artists ever dream of lip syncing, even on a TV show). But, yeah, I can handle a TV show (which they have done a few times), but at shows where there are fans who have travelled to see them, paid an entrance fee, etc, no, sorry, there is never a good reason. If Bill's voice isn't up to scratch (it hasn't been all year, lets face it) or they're too worn out, they should not be doing these shows. The management and record label are really letting them down by asking them to do it, convincing them, whatever.
I'm a supportive TH fan, but this really bother me. It probably would have gone under the radar on a lot of forums if Perez hadn't posted it, but it has been talked about a lot by the fans that were there.

I have to admit I remember searching youtube all day on the 6th to see the videos of them live, and when I watched them it just sounded too fake, and to be honest I was thinking of travelling all that way to see them perform If I'd have been there I'd have been SO disappointed because all that money would have been wasted to watch them mime instead of sing, which is the reason I would be going. Yeah to see them too, but without the music they're just normal people who don't know you, if you get me? So it's nothing, its like going on holiday and walking around a crowded festival, its a real performance when they sing, the audience joins in and the atmosphere is amazing and you feel the adenaline rushing, miming to a song which has been pre recorded edited to hell and has sound effects on just isn't the same what so ever. I'm talking poop now I doubt that makes sense, but yeah, If it doesnt hurt anyone and its a TV show then yeah, they can do it however I still find that disappointing Doing it at gigs is an all time low, people pay money for their CD, they dont want to pay triple that to see them play their CD and jump around on stage. -__- I've lost sense of what I was getting at now so I'll give up rofl.

hmm.. it sucks that they were lipsynching..
When they went to the TV Show "Família Superstar" here in Portugal, they did it too.. it wasn't THAT bad because the fans didn't pay anything, but still..
I can forgive lipsynching on a TV show or smthg, but live concerts? Not at all..

Guys we don't like the fact that they lip synced but to be honest, EVERY SINGLE musician does it at least a couple of times throughout their career. Sometimes it's done so well that you wouldn't notice even if you were told before hand. They probably had no choice but to do it and I can imagine Bill didn't want to do it. And the European Tour was cancelled not only because of the fact Bill couldn't sing pysically, but he was sick too! Laryngitis isn't just your voice and shit, it's physical too. He probably lost most of his energy at the same time as having it.
Whether or not we like it, they did it, they've most probably done it before and will probably do it again, it's their job at the end of the day and every musician lip syncs at some point. Except maybe Katy Perry cause she is just bad live ;D (love you too Pey xD)
I don't think (personally) that we should be so annoyed at them about this. Blame management and producers or something, not the actual guys..

I'm sorry, but people have a right to be annoyed. If I had paid for that performance, I'd be sending complaints and asking for my money back. If they cannot perform live because of Bill's surgery or illness, they should not have scheduled dates. Assuming any of the band members, including Bill, didn't want to or didn't have a choice, is your prerogative, but there's nothing to indicate that.
I just think that we should be able to discuss this and feel unhappy about this on an individual level without feeling like we shouldn't. The band has let down their fans and come under criticism for it - lets hope they make up for it and don't playback again in the future.
