Hey kids! New announcement has gone up about the tickets! 4pm today, WHOO!

Is great to finally have some info. Good luck everyone! Hope some of us manage to get tickets. Each applicant can apply for 4 tickets. ;D

MERSEYSIDE music fans will be given priority for tickets to MTV’s Europe Music Awards.

A global ballot for the hottest tickets of the year was being launched this afternoon.

But MTV said today the majority of tickets would be made available to people living in the UK, with a “clear priority” for those from the region.

The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the ECHO arena on Thursday, November 6 and are sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.

The ballot for the thousands of tickets available was due to go live at 4pm today.

People who want to register free for a chance to buy tickets need to visit the awards website www.mtvema.com.

Richard Godfrey, executive producer of the awards, said: “With the MTV Europe Music Awards being one of the main music highlights of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture calendar, we’re very keen people from the north west of England have the greatest chance to enjoy the show live.”

Tickets will cost £60 each, with a booking fee of £3 and an extra charge of £4.95 for special delivery of the tickets to minimise the risk of fraud and to reduce the ability for ticket touts to buy large numbers of tickets.

ECHO arena general manager Tim Banfield said today: “These will be the hottest tickets in town and I’d urge all fans to register for a chance of seeing a really spectacular stage show.”

Council leader Warren Bradley added: “The MTV Europe Music Awards is a fantastic showpiece for our Capital of Culture celebrations and is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the city for a generation.”

The online ballot closes at 6pm on Saturday October 4 and only one entry - for a maximum of four tickets - is permitted per household. People must be 16 or over.

The draw will take place on Monday October 6 and successful applicants will be contacted by the ECHO arena after that date.

I am still trying to convince my parents to let me go but since we got the new class timetables through last weeks my parents are "re-considering" letting me go just 'cause I've got two sciences on a Wednesday! (meaning a lot of work would be missed etc.)

But me and my "newly converted" mate are begging and begging so amybe it will all work out....

I hope...
