Lol thanks guys, I love hearing from people who don't mind flying, it always makes me feel much better and calmer about it I haven't been able to kip on a plane yet, but when I was going to and coming back from Istanbul a few weeks ago, I was able to stay calm enough to listen to music and even read I HATE taking off and also sitting waiting for it to take off... last flight I was on, we got on the plane 15 mins before it was due to take off and we missed our slot so we didn't take off for another 2 hours! Then when we arrived, we couldn't land so we had to circle for 40 minutes argh! It was sooo boring and didn't help the nerves! lol

I got over my fear of flying by flying alone!

everyone was like "she's gonna be crapping herself. especially during turbulence" i loved the turbulence. it was like being on a rollercoaster & just, when it stopped i got bored cuz nothing interesting was happening. landing was fun too cuz each time (i was on two planes there, two places back) i literally came off my seat :') (maybe it's true when people say i'm as light as a feather...) haha

I flew to Germany on my own last year, and now that I think about it I was actually a little better on those flights than on the others... I wonder if it's because you've no choice but to cope? I guess when you're with friends and family who also know you're scared, you maybe let the fear surface more because they;re expecting it anyway. Going it alone, you need to get by and there's no-one to freak out to. Good point there Amiee, I had fun psycho-analysing that one And now I'm feeling better about the flights, so thanks! ;D

the only time i've been scared for a flight was when going from Ghana to Portugal & i had to go in a wheelchair cuz of my broken toe & inflamed tendent in that toe. the guy was like "my son is looking to marry a white woman" as in me. my response was "i'm looking to marry a white man. i have a boyfriend. see this ring? he gave it me. we're getting married soon" & then i thought 'he's escorting me to my plane. what if he puts me on the wrong plane cuz of what i said?' i was sat on the plane for 20 minutes on my own, watching people get on the plane & my friends & brother weren't there. omg. but it was cute when they all arrived, cuz my brother asked one of my friends if i was on the plane (by this time, we were in the air & he was panicking cuz he couldn't see me awwh) but i doubt that'll happen to you, haha

Glad it's made you feel better though!
