like i said, please dont watch videos like these if you are weak with blood and cruelty like this, but sometimes these videos make a whole lot of difference in the choice to become a vegan/vegetarian, and probably its videos like this that help people take action against this cruelty, but still, your opinion right?

Just a random saying to people who don't want to be a veggie but hate animal cruelty: Boycott KFC. Seriously. www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/They're aweful to the chickens they use for their food. In another note, I used to be vegetarian =P But my mum found it so awkward and frustrating that I went back to eating meat, but kinda forced her to get free range stuff XP So it was kind of a compramise. Kraig-x

What you have to remember is this is the Illegal Fur Trade and NOT the meat trade. So by not eating meat technically you arnt saving animals like this.
If you watch a BBC programme called Kill it, Cook it, Eat it you will see that the baby animals are killed in a humane way and experience little or no pain.
(Don't watch if you don't like to see animals die, because they do film it)
But I think that video is sick and should NOT be on the net.

Luckily, Nin told me not to watch that video *thank god* 'cos I feel sick just hearing about it, I would hate to think who or what I would have thrown up on if I actually watched it =S
And did anyone watch the Jamie Oliver program about how battery chickens are treated? It was on quite a while ago but I thought it was a really good program to get the message across. Ever since, I've only been eating free-range stuff.

I have filmed inside a slaughter house and also on a pig farm. I have footage AS cruel as this fur video direct from the meat industry. So I know first hand how bad it is. These particular videos will never be put online - they were for a court case, BUT, the reason people do post similar ones ( on all subjects of animal abuse ) is because otherwise, no one would ever know! But, everyone`s decision to / not to eat meat is their own. Other people`s life choices are not my business, but I do think people have the right to know, and also to show, the truth. Anyway, I`m gonna duck out of this discussion at this point. I`m pretty militant when it comes to animal rights and I do find it hard not to react to certain things. But if anyone wants any links on veggie diets and stuff, feel free to pm me. ;D

I've been veggie for about 8 months. I take multivitamins and iron supplements so I don't get ill, but argh why do most multivitamins contain gelatin? It's so stupid, took me ages to find some veggies ones, and they taste like poo. I'm vegetarian because I don't like the farming of animals, I personally think it's wrong. I also think it's better for the environment to not eat meat, and I think their are health benefits too. I won't ever try and make anyone vegetarian as long as they don't try and make me have any slaughter by product Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs I think I hate animal cruelty, they can feel pain like us, so we shouldn't do anything to an animal that we wouldn't want done to ourselves. We wouldn't just go upto another human and do such things to them, so we shouldn't do it to animals. Nash's question...... I think it's okay for animals to eat other animals, I just think it's wrong that we farm animals for food. We should let animals breed naturally instead of forcing them to reproduce just so we can kill them. I think it is really mean.

but we farm for food because otherwise we would eat all the food on the planet ... we sorta need it .. if u get me, were almost abouve a natural food chain now.
Also if it is done the way its ment to, not some of these nasty ways you see ... the animals are reared free range, then killed quickly with no pain .. are veggies against that sorta thing :S ?
As for a painful death, we kill our animals more humainly than wild animals do, I mean when wild animals get hunted and eaten I have seen some pretty painful ways they do it. One spider paralises its prey then eats it still alive ....imagin being able to "feel" know your being eaten :s
Animals also premeditate there death of there prey .. by using "traps" ... our version of almost a farm of food?
Like a spiders web, it just kills food that flys into the web even if its not hungery and saves it for later.
owww another wierd question why can some veggies eat fish ?
urrrg, sorry if I sound really anti veggie, but im not, its just I dont understand the method behind it and instead of jsut being ignorant I woul rather ask ppl so they can explain to me why

I'm going to try not to post here much because i can get really defensive about this stuff and i don't want to here xD
About the 'vegetarians' eating fish thing. They are not vegetarians, they eat animals x.x It annoys me when people say that they are vegetarians yet 'only' eat chicken or fish or something. Why can't they say that they don't eat any meat apart from chicken etc, not say that they're a vegetarian -_-
lol, it's annoying. But yeah, they aren't vegetarians then, in my opinion.

Veggies can eat fish? But, fishes are living things *is confused* I can't answer that one haha
I'm not agaist free range, I think that is acceptable. It's just so much easier for me to be veggie than only eat free range, because trying to explain to my dad the concept of free range would be like chopping my head off and surviving; impossible.

Lol ok, I know I said I was not gonna participate any more, but I just wanted to respond to your point nash Actually the rearing of livestock uses more than double the amount of the planet`s resources and a significantly larger amount of human food production than it would to feed the entire world on a vegetarian diet. And the meat industy is responsible for human`s largest contribution to global warming. There are some countries where people are living at starvation levels, a walking distance away from huge amounts of food - destined to feed cattle! It`s crazy. Ok, that`s me done. I will go back to keeping quiet now lol Ecomo, I`m the same! I am gonna have to ban myself from reading this thread.

More updates my fellow TH-ians.
The meat industry causes:
18% of greenhouse gas emissions measured in CO2 equivalent.(more than trasport) Livestock are responsible for 64% of anthropogenic ammonia emissions(adds to acid rain) over 8 percent of global human water use (almost the largest water pollouters) key factor in deforestation (i'm not sure about this one>>>) The meat industry causes over one third of worl polloution.
