i didn't know if there was already and EMA thread or not, so i made this one. move if needs be (:
but yeah. despite tokio hotel being out of the spotlight for about 8 / 9 months, they were still nominated for Best Group against Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Jonas Brothers and Kings of Leon.

So who is all heading out to Berlin for the EMA's? I know there's a thread in the 'New Projects' section but didn't like to ask about who's taking a trip incase it was a strictly voting thread lol so thought this thread could be a place to chat about people's plans for it? |

Myself, as well as a few other of the staff, are heading out to Berlin for the EMA's. (:
Should be fun, no doubt possibly stood outside the boys hotel for days on end just to get a glimpse of them again.  But we're also going to the celebration of the Berlin Wall, because - obviously- Susi is German, and I'd find it super interesting. o:

That sounds like soooo much fun !! I'm not sure I'd be brave enough for that though lol, Berlin is sooo cold in winter! I found I had to keep moving constantly when I was there just so I didn't go numb So do people on the fan walk get to go to the after party? Ok, I know this sounds like a random question, but how do people actually find what hotel they're staying in?? This has always fascinated me lol I always wanted to do this with a band, go stand around outside for a few hours and wave hello  ... it was so annoying after Paris too, because when I saw fans meeting them on youtube, I totally recognised the area! Pffft! |

The hotel thing is usually just word of mouth...a case of who you know. However, in a lot of countries, the sheer number of TH fans outside hotels gives the game away. Usually you can pick a number of hotels that the band might stay in and then just go have a scout around and find it. For instance, in Liverpool, we knew where they were staying, but a lot of fans just browsed the different hotels that were being used for the EMAs and asked the papparazzi or other fans if the act they were interested were staying there. In some cases, the press also prints details of hotels. In others, the record label releases info. It's all a case of keeping ears open.
Another example: in Paris for PDP, we found their hotel quite easily. We had two hotels that they 'usually' stay in that we were told by other fans. So we just checked them out. The first one we went to had a police cordon and was surrounded with fans. lol.

I SEEN TH ON MTV NEWS YESTERDAY it showed a clip of automatic saying that the band is nominated for best group (need to vote ^^) and that they might be performing...about 20 minutes after i still didnt wake up from shock hehehe |

Tokio Hotel are confirmed to be performing so I'm really looking forward to it. I mean, their Monsoon performance in 2007 was epic! How to top that one? Also because they're obviously a German band and it's the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall being torn down... I'm quite excited about it all and about being in Berlin. I still remember what it was like 20 years ago and it was just so emotional, it's hard to describe. Maybe TH get to perform at the Brandenburger Tor? Who knows, who knows. Actually I don't really want to think about it too much. Gives me stomach aches.
Anyway, it would just be amazing if they would walk away with an EMA at this special time. However, the competition is fierce and it worries me to be honest. We really have to put lots of effort into voting, please.

Today in lesson i kept pressing my pen like it was a vote button haha
i was like "vote,vote!"
My teacher was like WTF Jess whats wrong? i was like Sorry was up all night voting for Tokio hotel

It's usually on about 9, I think that the show starts off at 8.. But there's an hour delay?? I'm not sure, I think there's usually a live feed though.
