Bill has had the surgery now! www.bild.de/BILD/news/telegramm/news-ticker,rendertext=4141604.html The vocal cord operation of Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz (18) went well according to his manager. "With the operation everything went according to plan, and the physician is very confident", said producer David Jost. "The treating physician of Bill is one of the best physicians in his area. Whether the operation succeeded, however, in such a way that Bill's voice sounds exactly the same like before ", one cannot say unfortunately yet.

How does it feel to be so long at home at once? Tom Kaulitz: "We have been constantly on the road for the last few years and from one day to the other we are just hanging around the house. That is a crazy switch. You are just falling into a big hole and are suddenly missing being on the road. And of course Bill misses the singing, Bill doesn’t just sing on stage or in the studio but also at home. No wonder it got to his voice. Now he is silent and I have to say I really like it."
Is Bill sad? How do you cheer him up? Tom Kaulitz: "Och, I don’t think he is that sad. And even when he does he has no possibility to nag about it without his voice. Normally he talks constantly and uninterrupted like a waterfall, it can be really annoying. I have the most relaxed time in my life right now. When someone is talking it is finally me and Bill can’t say anything back – It’s awesome. Yesterday he had written "shut up" on a piece of paper. When he now wants to say something he holds up the paper."
Do you accompany Bill in the hospital? How long does he have to stay? Tom Kaulitz: "Bill will stay in the hospital as short as possible. He will probably only stay there one or two days. I will drive him there and will at least stay with him the whole time. Our family, closest friends, Georg and Gustav and our team will of course also visit him."
What are Gustav and Georg doing at the moment? Tom Kaulitz: "Well, for them everything stays the same. What are they doing? They do nothing, like always. (laughs) Georg is probably playing all day and Gustav makes a tour on his bike. No, I believe we all are coming quietly through this pause. Maybe it’s not that bad."
Do you fear that Tokio Hotel maybe won’t be like before after the surgery? Do you think Bill’s voice will become deeper after the surgery? Tom Kaulitz: "We actually couldn’t care less, both of us. Bill has let me know that if something goes wrong after the surgery I should get behind the microphone. Oh well, Phil Collins was also the drummer before he became singer."
You also have a back-up-plan. Your fans are at least very worried. You get many gifts for Bill, or what? Tom Kaulitz: "How the fans are responding right now is unbelievable and totally sweet. Bill is getting stuffed with gifts at the moment. Most of them are inspired with Bill’s throat. For the next ski trip he is all set. He has got many blankets and scarves and we can start our own pharmacy. Without ending, scarves, multivitamins, Vitamin C, Zink and many of those homeopathic things. If you would all take it at once you would really get high."

I can just imagine Bill wrapped up in 598739568 blankets from fans. LOL.

Yes, Bill had his operation yesterday and it went well. According to an article from bz-berlin: -Tom and his parents were constantly with him -After 30 minutes everything was over -10 days the singer isn’t allowed to speak Tom got Bill a chalkboard to write on (thx Tom, I now have to remove that from our care package LOL) I haven't seen a full translation of this: Hamburg – Bill Kaulitz (18) von „Tokio Hotel“ wurde gestern am Kehlkopf operiert.
www.bild.de/BILD/leute/star-news/2008/03/31/tokio-hotel/bill-stimmband-operation,geo=4138844.html But I gather he can't speak or laugh for 10 days (I'm sure a little giggle over our package won't be a problem ;D) and that he will be back on stage on May 1st in the USA. Claire

Awww bless him. I got a chalkboard to lmao. By the end of 10 days I will be sitting chin high in a pile of white dust!!!
Wow, I am still completely amazed that he is going to be back on the stage by May 1st!!! In a way I feel happy for him because I am sure it is what he wants, but it also feels really soon after going through something like this.
Well, surely they would not risk any further problems with him after this scare, so I guess we can only assume that it`s `safe` for him to do that. But I really hope that they have all learnt a lesson from this, and see to it that the boys get some more time off in the future.
BIG love to Bill. ;D And to Tom for looking after him!
Thankyou for the info
