I thought that we should have a new thread for this afterall, since this is much more serious than we first realised and will probably be an ongoing discussion.

I knew yesterday that there would be a press release today, so this is all official information.

Hamburg-Has he endangered his health for his fans?

Singer Bill Kaulitz(18) of germany’s most successful rock band “Tokio Hotel”(DDM) hast to go through a surgery of his larynx!

The doctors diagozed a cyst on one of his vocal chords, that(the cyst) has to be removed immediately. Without a surgery his voice could be affected so strongly that he would never be able to sing again.

The completely sold out Europe-tour with concerts in Italy, Sweden, Slowenia, Serbia, Finnland, Danmark, Norway and a show in Dortmund have to be cancelled.

„Bill has already been in supervision of doctors in the beginning of last week, because of a laryngitis“, says TH-producer and manager David Jost. “A further examination showed that a slub has devellopped on one of the vocal chords, which makes it impossible for the laryngitis to heal. The cyst has to be removed in a surgery this week.”

How can such a cyst develop?

“Mostly a slob of the vocal chords, a so called singers’ knot, devellops because of an overstraining of the voice”, says Doctor Julia Vent from the University-Hospital Cologne. “If a singer sings too loud or with wrong pressure such a slob can devellop. That is encouraged, if the vocal chords are already affected by an infection. A cyst in the larynx is a small bubble filled with liquid. The surgery is made by inserting a pipe through the mouth. With help of a microscope the cyst is cut out with tiny, sharp scissors.”

After the surgery Bill has to go through a several-weeks long rehabilitation, to avoid long-term damage.

Producer David Jost: “We really hope, that the fans understand that Bill’s health has to be in the foreground.”

From what I understand, this morning on RTL they confirmed that the North American tour is also cancelled.

I assume there will be an official statement on the websites.

This is very sad news. I'm gutted for Bill. I'm going to send him a care package at home, so if anyone has any ideas of what to include, I'll be very grateful. So far I'm thinking the following:

* Gummi Bears cartoon dubbed in German on DVD
* Sweets - gummi worms, marshmallows, etc
* Porn and lube (LOL)
* Scarf
* A new lipgloss and nail polish (I'm thinking MAC)
* Toys from paperchase (they have random stuff, like captapults and stickers and fun stuff like that)

Anymore ideas? Try and keep it logistically possible and not too expensive. I'm going to put the box together this week and send it. So stuff I can get easily and would make Bill smile.

I also think we should all together write a poem, or song for him to tell him we hope we hope he's okay and that we're always behind him 100 percent!

Good ideas! Ohhhh, Bill likes peppermint tea actually. Good idea.

If anyone writes a song/poem, obviously that can be included. I would love to, but I'm just not that creative. LOL.

If you're asking if I know where he lives - the answer is yes. It has nothing to do with my connections...there are stalkers in Hamburg and they don't exactly keep it a secret. The kind of girls that sit outside his house day and night. I would never go to his house, I would never send anything there under usual circumstances, but this is a special one off imo.

Yeah, I feel guilty even knowing it, but maybe it can be put to good use and Bill will get a smile out of it next week.

I think the only ones who should feel guilty are the ones that camp outside of his house, that's just plain sad, imho.

And it's fine knowing it as long as like it is put to good use as you said.

I think its okay you know where he lives, its not like your promoting it or anything. This had made me feel terrible now, I was so pissed about this whole America thing and the whole time he’s been so ill, I’ll write a poem or something. Or a song, and maybe record it?

Yeah this sounds like a really good idea.

I think the funny photos of us all facepainted and dressed up and doing funny things that Claire was talking about last night would also be pretty ace. So seeing as were not in a 100% of a rush, when do we send? in a week ?and a half? Gives people time to do there bits.
