Ahh, I suck at baking. I lost so much weight when I first started uni because I couldn't cook for myself!! Worst thing was when my friends and I tried to make brownies in Halls last year. See, in my Halls last year, in each flat there was a kitchen and corridor (as well as rooms!) - there was a smoke alarm in the corridor and a heat sensitive one in the kitchen. If you set one off and there wasn't a fire, you'd be fined quite heavily (not to mention that you'd have the whole block pissed at you because they had to be evacuated), so everyone was extra cautious about cooking and burning food. When my friends and I tried to make brownies, we thought it would be easy enough to do; we had one of those "instant mix" packs, so we turned on the oven, mixed it up and shoved it in, waiting in the kitchen and chatting whilst we waited. Literally ten minutes later, as we're talking, I suddenly realise my eyes are burning. It's at this point that my friends and I realise we'd didn't actually check what temperature we'd put the oven at and the kitchen was now filled with smoke. Cue: opening the tiny window and all three of us hanging out it, desperate for fresh air but unable to open the kitchen door for fear of setting the alarm off!! People were walking past thought we were mad.

Lol! I can picture that happening, pippinmcgee (sorry, I'm not sure of your name either). I'd be so worried about cooking, aha. Rofl, my dads done stuff like that, Naomi. Something about some men and the kitchen don't quite mix... My dad ate frozen fish sticks, thinking they were ready to eat. Two minutes later, he was upstairs in the bathroom being sick. =P --- I've just finished baking a honey and lemon cake in the oven, only to find out I've ran out of lemon which I need for the butter cream icing. Gah, really can't be bothered to walk up the shop. Might have a go at making a spinach and pineapple pizza later. The recipe sounds interesting.
