oh sorry i modified it ^^ back to Set - in depictions of his battle with Horus he was seen as a black pig or hippo. or as a crocodile, which was thought to be a combination of him and the original god of evil, Apep. but in later depictions he was seen as a man with red eyes and a red mane and yeah - called a donkey cos of his short temper LAWL. donkey man

I like reading about his battle with Horus- supposedly ripping Horus' eye out, leading to the eye of Horus. It's interesting how their appearances and purposes changed over time and thorughout different areas.
So what would you like to talk about on the subject of Hathor? If I remember correctly, she was a cow before 'evolving' onto a human?

The House of Hathor sounds interesting... She was apparently linked with the origins of the Greek Aphrodite. And in late periods of Ancient Egypt, I think she was seen as the female 'version' of Osiris.

Hathor has always amused me. Particularly the tales of her 'special' dance for Ra to cheer him up, LOL.

well Hathor was the goddess of music, dance and arts, and after discovering that Ra was in despair over a war, she tried many times to turn him back into his old self. after sending others dancers, singers, atrists and musicians she still found that nothing could bring him out of his despair - and you've heard that egyptians have very er... graphic... stories - well its been said that she basically did a lap dance for him and brought him out of his mood ^^
well i think theres more than one version but thats always the one i come across...

Yup, she is said to have 'exposed' herself to him, thus making him laugh and returning him to good spirits!

Bill has always looked somewhat Egyptian with that make-up on... He'd be a fabulous Pharaoh.
