'The Picture of Dorian Gray' is an amazing book! Oscar Wilde had such an interesting way with words! It is really scary though, it's frightening who self obsessed Dorian is and how destructive he becomes because of it. Everyone is in love with him, but he just ends up destroying the lives of all of them really. Powerful stuff. I'd really really recommend it though, the author had such an interesting take on human nature, you'll find yourself reading passages over and over again the philosophy is just so cool :super: Can't wait for the movie, even although Dorian Gray is blonde with blue eyes in the book lol I still think Ben Barnes looks flawless though so he's perfect for the role Gushing over...

I saw Dorian Gray today. I know nothing else that has so successfully made a tea party seem so raunchy.

It was good. The film as a film wasn't Oscar deserving but as a story it was entertaining and very good to watch. It wasn't perfect but that in no way takes away the fact that it was enjoyable and still contained... I've lost what I was going to type... Um, yeah, it had emotion carried along with it and, so, it was good as a whole I'd get it on DVD.

I saw District Nine today. It was better than I expected. It made me question what was morally acceptable, as I found myself disliking the protagonist at times, at the same time as the antagonists. It suggests opinions on interracial rights and how we use our 'power' as humans. The way it was filmed was also unusual. I think it's my favorite Peter Jackson film

I finally got round to watching District 9 properly tonight.
It was totally different to what I was expecting, but in a good way. I really enjoyed it, though it was quite sad. I found it totally believable. It's not like we haven't treated our own species the same way, so why should we expect that an alien race would recieve any respect!
Sometimes I despair at how cruel humans can be. Even though it's only a film, there's a lot of truth hidden under the special effects.

Oh, District 9 is definitely worth watching Amiee, yeah. It's a good movie.
Ok, so tonight I watched The Canyon. I was a bit dubious as all the reviews I've read for it said it was jank.
So, anyway, I'm watching it thinking, 'Wtf, this is a really good film, why are the reviews so bad?'. And Eion Bailey is super cute in it, which is a bonus, lol.
And then we reached the ending. And lol, there we have the reason why everyone slagged it off. Not because the entire film is rubbish - it isn't - but because the end of it is such a let down that it makes you forget that the film was actually good.
I won't tell you what happens incase you wanna watch it. But I'm about to write something on my blog about it, so if you're interested in why I didn't like the ending, you can check that out in a bit. liz66.blogspot.com/

Two films I need to see are Superbad and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas. It's so terrible when friends say, "Have you seen Superbad?" "Oh yeah, it's WELL funny! " and I can't.

My apologies for possibly over-using this thread lol But I'm such a movie geek, I get so excited about so many films & I seem to have picked this spot for gushing lol. Daybreakers tomorrow *yay* plus, my Ethan seems to be on a movie kick right now (thank goodness, I missed him when he was writing his amazing books) so I'm uber excited about this one too 'Brooklyns' Finest' www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI_HAfB0FskAlso can't wait for 'The Lovely Bones', although I know I'm gonna blub like a baby www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikUWKi0W5_g And finally... can you believe they've 'sort of' remade 'The Karate Kid'? With Jackie Chan as the teacher?? How old does that make me feel when I loved that film when I was young and now they're remaking it!
