I personally prefer the German, i think it sounds better and you can tell Bill puts more feeling into the German word performances because he's more comfortable with what he's singing, having said that, I prefer his voice in the English versions but mainly because he's older now and I think his voice has got loads better!

i think i like the enlgish L.E.S more lol i just prefer bills voice and i lovee reden
but it would sound weird in english because it means talk dosent it ?
and it woulnt really fit... hmm

I prefer the German, there is so much more emotion and the songs are more powerful. I still love the English though because it's just so sweet how they are considering all the English speaking fans. And they sound amazing too hehe

I prefer most of the songs in German, although they are easier to sing in English. I do love By yourside in English...Kiri you are so right, thats my favourite line too!!!
I was also suprised to find I love 'Love is Dead' in English... what does everyone else think of that one?
Really don't like Live every second, Leb die sekunde is much better.

I sing the German songs when Im walking around school (I sing them wrong obviously ) but atleast I know what the songs mean even if I dont speak German. I cant sing anyway so I just tell myself that if do it in a different language noone will notice xD I think I prefer the German songs a tiny bit more, I agree that they sound more emotional and they sound more natural.

I started listening to them in German and made a point of avoiding the English versions for a while. I dont think the songs translate across as well, but i'm kinda biased cos I love the German language. I did find that listening to TH helped improve my German too, like with the phrasing of things and that.

I like to hear both - English and German, and I agree that its sweet of them to put in the effort to do the English. But I admit I do prefer listening to Bill sing in German - for most of the reasons already stated - he is just at his best - more comfortable and natural. Not that he doesn`t sound amazing in English of course ;D Reden is my favourite song, and after a while I found myself singing along in German without even realising I was doing it at first. Lol

i love listening to both personally i like everysong better in german EXCEPT through the monsoon i really dont like it in german i doont know why ALSO i dont like most songs where he's alot younger i like his voice alot better now and LES i dont think im too keen on the english. but as i said i prefer alot of the songs in german they sound better and you can tell bill feels better singing them in his own language and he can out more feeling into the words because he wrote them so he can sing them they way they were intended to be.

I agree that both are good, but there are just some bits in english that ...don't work.
Like...I think On the Edge and Don't Jump and Monsoon are great in english....but Scream...it becomes kinda cringy, plus Bill's pronunciation of Scream kinda comes out "Scweam"....has anyone else noticed that?....I wasn't sure if it was just me at first...but the more I hear it the more it's like 'hmm....i cannot be imagining that...- And Wo sind eure Haende is just NOT good. Never again do I want to hear it in English. Nuhuh. XD
I love all the old songs, Ich bin nich' ich and Unendlichkeit etc and I just don't think they'd work in English, like Reden would be....kinda tricky XD There newer songs work though, tbh, like a small preview of 1000 meere in English sounded quite cool.
But Bill does sound his best in German...it just...is right!...It's them....And it just sounds better in my opinion. It almost seems like Bill tries too hard to put the same effort into the English and with his goooorgeously cute accent it just...sometimes doesn't work....if you get me.... Ooh I feel really mean coz of how hard it must be, I mean when I sing in German I sound like such a tit...XD Sorrrrry Bill -clings to nearest Bill poster-
I still love them and the songs whatever, though. X3

I'm surely not the only one that loves Squeeeeeeeeem? Hahaha. I love the way Bill sings Scream. It's just cute. The only song I don't like in English is Forgotten Children. And Live Every Second. But, I think these all come down to personal preference.
Wo sind Eure Hande was sung in English in London and I really enjoyed it. Still the same fun song it is in German. It's actually one of my favourite German songs. But, at the end of the day, I like TH and all their songs and I enjoy them whatever language they choose to sing/speak in. I get a little tired of the endless English vs German debate. It doesn't matter. We can all have a preference, but I also think that at the end of the day we should appreciate and support the new things that they try.
I also think that the biggest difficulty for them is that fans get so familiar with the German that the English seems out of place. Most people think Rescue Me, for instance, sounds great in English. That's because when most people discovered Tokio Hotel that song was already floating around and available, so it was instantly part of their TH associations.

Mmm, agreed. Rescue me also fits well and has good lyrics in both. Amaazing song. I heard the songs in German first, because I heard them in a german lesson at school and now they just sound right to me like that. But the more i do listen to the English ones, the more I enjoy them...but when you go straight from Schrei to Scream it is VERY noticeable and just ..a bit weird i suppose.
Naturally I still respect EVERYTHING they do, they put so much effort into their music and you can alwaaays tell. Bill's such a perfectionist, bless him. %%
Squeeeam XD lol I just love him tbh. With or without the Squeaming. XD
Lol -joins Stef in apologetic stroking- I just....can't do the Wo sind eure Hände. IM SORRY! -strokes avidly-
