I've recently found this community on LiveJournal called Holiday_Wishes. Its such a cool idea! Basically you join the comunity, and make a post with 10 wishes you want for Christmas. It could be fanfiction, icons, hugs, cards, letters, games, world peace, anything! And people can choose to grant your wishes (like send you something). I'm on the Xmas card list for loads of people so far XD Its so fun! So, yeah, check it out: community.livejournal.com/holiday_wishes/(And go look at my list too X3 community.livejournal.com/holiday_wishes/1274304.html )

I'm not on LJ but it sounds like a cute idea. People just need to be cautious about swapping personal details with strangers. Lovely holiday thought though.

Yeah, people should be careful. Which is one reason the mods of the community ask for you to give your email or PO Box address only when posting your list.
Safety first kids!

Are you sending cards (or something else) as well, Kraig? There must be quite a number of people participating, I imagine.

Yup! There's loads of people. The LJ tags also help because they're sorted into countries. I've trying to stick to the UK cause I'm broke XP

I used to always, without fail, exchange Christmas cards with my LJ friends. Usually I'd get about 30 cards from abroad. Used to cost me a bomb, but I loved getting them. However, probably at least the last 6 months, maybe even a year, I haven't been using my LJ and it feels a bit weird to do so.
However, I must urge people to be careful about exchanging addresses. When people are LJ friends you can get a feel of them and your comfort level in exchanging postal addresses, but in a comm it's a bit harder to judge. So just be alert.
It's nice though. I've had really cool Xmas cards from all over the world.
