It's pretty obvious people are spamming it... just look at the user names! This is really very annoying and pointless. It's very upsetting that a few fans (don't know how many but it seems to be at least two) don't realise that genuine bids are the key here and have to ruin it for all the UK fans. Spamming has never helped anywhere and it surely hasn't suddenly become a good idea. We were doing well before this and now... who knows what this will mean for our chances.
Edit to add: 190 times?! Jeez! That's not how this works, just argh.

I just emailed them and apologised. I asked the girl to delete the bids, but she hasn't done so. I'm hoping they will be able to identify them and delete them. Honestly, I don't get TH fans. Have they no brains? Claire

It's really important that something like this is taking completely serious, it's like a lifeline. It's really upsetting to think that we could lose it because someone doesn't realise the importanceof being honest witht his kind of thing

This makes me so angry. Jeez, we are trying so hard here to actually go about getting a gig in a sensible way that just might work. And then some total idiots go and c*ck it up for us.
It's hard enough trying to get anyone to take UK fans seriously, without people doing this when someone actually tries to help us.
ARGH!!!!

It was up to 511 yesterday so yes, bids obviously got deleted. I hope the girl did it herself and hopefully she deleted all her spam bids. I don't know though.

Hi,
Neil here from Owngig.com. Thanks so much for all your bids so far and we look forward to seeing the number keep going up so that hopefully we can make this gig happen - it's in your hands, so keep up the good work.
Just wanted to reassure you that the multiple bids that you've been rightly complaining about up thread won't decrease the chance of the gig happening. You will see the number of bids going down by about 150 shortly as we remove the fake bids, but this doesn't affect the overall chances of the bid happening.
Thanks again! And if you have any Qs about the gig, I'll do my best to answer them here or you can PM me.

Thank you Neil! Especially for letting us know about the deletions, I'm pretty sure we'd all panic if that many went all at once without a reason! And hooray the spam bids won't affect our chances!
