So, I had the opportunity to see Tokio Hotel on Monday and Tuesday in Los Angeles. They did a signing at a Hot Topic there, so I thought it would be a good chance to pass along a message to the boys about the UK fans.
midori was kind enough to help me by translating my note from English into German.
I had found some little bracelets at the Marc by Marc store in January that I thought Bill would like, but never got the chance to pass them along to him at the other gig.
One is a silver Burmese cuff with characters on it for health and happiness.
The other is leather with a metal plaque on it that says "Datum Amore. Ad Defendendum."
It means 'given in love, for your protection' and my friend and I were laughing over how cheesy that was & she was like "hey, you could give that to Bill as an amulet to protect him from crazy fangirls." lmao. So I got it for him as a joke, basically. XD
ANYWAY, the bracelets were essentially just an attempt to bribe him into reading the note. I gave the gift to him at the signing on Monday, and his smile got waaaay bigger and he set it with his own bag, so I really think he'll see the note. <3
Translation:
Hi Bill!
Hope you like the bracelets! I thought you all were brilliant at your London gig last year. I was lucky enough to be able to come see this gig in L.A., but a lot of other UK fans are anxious to see the band again in England. Everyone here with the UK Street Team and the UK forum are so excited to see how well the band is doing, and hope you'll continue to play more UK shows
<3 Eve
They were going pretty fast down the line, but I'd brought a guitar's pickguard for them to sign instead of a CD--which Saki was alarmed by at first, thinking it was a weapon (wtf), but then cracked up when he realised it was just part of a guitar. I made Saki laugh!! . I was so startled seeing him laugh that I almost forgot what I was going to say to Bill in German. XD
But yeah, so in English I was like, "You should come back to England again when you can. We all miss you guys." to Georg and he looked sooooo confused. I wasn't mumbling & it wasn't difficult grammar, so I couldn't figure that out.
I realised afterward that, duh, I have an American accent so the "WE" part must've seemed totally random. I'm sure he was like 'how can she miss us when we're here right now?' Oops. I forget sometimes that I am not technically English. XD Can't help the accent though. haha.
I also ran into David Jost before the gig, and told him that the UK fans really wanted them to come back & that there had just been a big Street Team meetup in London recently. Soooo, I've done my best! ::crosses fingers::
My pictures from the actual show are crap, but I'll whack them up here anyway
Outside the hotel. Bill worked some sort of black magic on my camera so this could be anyone, but it was him, I swear! lol.
