That Bild interview clip is just too cute. Here's the translation (hope you don't mind, Leela, but I was up late anyway ):

Hatte er doch seine Fans in Angst und Schrecken versetzt. Wochenlang konnte Bill keinen Laut von sich geben. Doch jetzt ist sie wieder da: die Stimme der Erfolgsband Tokio Hotel. Im exklusiven Interview erzählt der Sänger erstmals was er durchgemacht hat.

Bei mir war’s einfach so, dass sich da gar nichts getan hat. Also es war einfach da und die haben gesagt „Ok, alles klar. Wenn wir das nicht weg machen, dann kommt das auf jeden Fall immer wieder und dann ist es einfach nicht möglich weiter zu singen.“ Und das war schon echt so ne richtige Schocknachricht dann nach der Woche. Nach dem ganzen Hin und Her, mit den… (pauses)… besseren Nachrichten zwischendurch und wieder diesen Rückschlägen und so. Das war dann auf jeden Fall so die Nachricht wo man wusste „Alles klar, jetzt ist man außer Gefecht gesetzt für vier Wochen mindestens“.

Also am meisten Angst hatte ich eigentlich, ähm… wirklich… eigentlich… natürlich vor der OP wegen Narkose und so weiter, weil ich dachte „Oh Gott, so `ne Vollnarkose und so, das haut einen irgendwie noch mal ganz schön um.“. Und ähm… (starts smiling and shifting on the sofa)… ich hatte so’n Horrorfilm gesehen, vorher, und da war’s nämlich so, dass die Leute… da war so’n Mann. Ich weiß gar nicht wie das hieß. Auf jeden Fall war da so’n Mann, der war in Vollnarkose und… (looks up, thinking)… der hat aber noch alles mitgekriegt. Der konnte das nur nich’ sagen. Das heißt, der war wirklich… der lag da und alle dachten… die Ärzte dachten, alles ist in Ordnung. Der musste am Herzen operiert werden und die schneiden den dann quasi auf und er kriegt noch alles mit und der will’s eigentlich sagen. Kann er aber nicht, weil er sich nicht bewegen kann. Und solche Sachen hab’ ich mir natürlich vorher noch angeguckt und hab’ mir echt Sorgen gemacht und dachte „Ok, das Allerwichtigste ist, dass ich einschlafe und nichts davon mitkriege.“. So, das war mir wirklich das Wichtigste.

Vier Wochen war er außer Gefecht gesetzt. Nicht einmal seine eigene Musik durfte der Musiker hören. Allein vorm Fernseher schlug Bill die Zeit tot. Der 18-Jährige schwieg tapfer und machte sich auch noch Sorgen um seine Fans.

Das ist Wahnsinn was von den Fans kam. Äh, wie die so reagiert haben in der Zeit so. Ich dachte echt „Oh Gott, hoffentlich nimmt mir das irgendwie keiner übel. Hoffentlich ist keiner sauer.“. Und ähm, das tat auf jeden Fall gut so zu sehen, dass alle sich Sorgen machen und das alle irgendwie da sind und äh, alle so den Weg mit mir zusammen gehen und mich da jetzt nicht irgendwo sitzen lassen. Das war auf jeden Fall echt hilfreich in der Zeit und ähm, da waren echt süße Sachen bei. So irgendwer hat irgendwie `ne Halskrause geschickt (laughs), weil sie gar nicht genau wussten was ich habe und ähm… Also auf jeden Fall, da waren aber auch Inhaliergeräte bei und was weiß ich. Also, das ist Wahnsinn irgendwie. Da ist echt `ne ganze Seite im Kühlschrank (lifts arm to indicate) voll mit den Sachen, die ich hab’ und so und dann sind wirklich noch Kisten mit Sachen, die ich dann doppelt hab’ und so. Also, es ist echt Wahnsinn. Es ist ganz, ganz viel angekommen. Ich glaube, ich konnt’ echt nich’ alles seh’n, aber auf jeden Fall `n’ Großteil.

Ähm, also ich glaube, ich freu’ mich drauf wieder die Bühne zu sehen, die Leute zu sehen, von der Crew, wirklich die ganzen Leute wieder zu sehen und vor allem die Fans, ja? Also wirklich wieder zu sehen, dass ich da wieder stehen kann… und mit `nem Mikrofon in der Hand und es kommt was raus. Ich kann irgendwie, ähm… (lifts hands)… ja, die Leute so, das Publikum, wieder glücklich machen so. Weil das war ja so für mich das allerschlimmste wirklich. Dass die Tour abgesagt werden musste. Dass diese ganzen enttäuschten Fans nach Hause gehen mussten, die schon vor der Halle gewartet haben und die irgendwie sich so lange auf das Konzert gefreut haben. Und ich kann mir das echt gut vorstellen wie Scheiße das ist und… Ähm ja, von daher, mir tat das wahnsinnig Leid für alle. Von daher, freu’ ich mich darauf wieder da zu stehen und wieder irgendwie alle Leute glücklich machen zu können.

Bereits am Donnerstag brechen Tokio Hotel nach Amerika auf. Hier wollen sie ihre Platte Scream vorstellen. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass Bill nicht noch einmal die Stimme wegbleibt.



He, however, worried his fans to death. Bill wasn’t able to make a sound for weeks. But now it’s back again: the voice of the successful band Tokio Hotel. For the first time the singer talks about what he went through in an exclusive interview.

With me it was just like that there wouldn’t be anything going on. So, it was just there and they said “Ok, alright. If we don’t remove this, it will definitely always come back and then it will just not be possible to keep on singing.” And that was really shocking news, after that week. After all the back and forth with… (pauses)… better news in between and those throwbacks and so on. That definitely was that kind of news where one knew “Alright, now one is put out of action for at least four weeks.”

So, actually I was mostly afraid of, erm… really… actually… of course of the surgery because of general anaesthetic and so on because I thought “Oh god, such general anaesthetic and so on, that somehow knocks someone out once again.” And erm… (starts smiling and shifting on the sofa)… I’ve been watching some horror film (Bless him for categorising it as horror. Considering the circumstances it would be horror to him though. *aww*), beforehand and there it was like this, that the people… there was some guy. I don’t know what it was called. Anyway, there was some guy who was under general anaesthesia and… (looks up, thinks)… but he still was aware of everything. He just couldn’t say anything. Meaning, he really was… he was lying there and everybody thought… the doctors thought everything would be okay. He had to have heart surgery and they basically cut him open and he’s aware of everything and he actually wants to say it. However, he can’t because he can’t move. And of course those are the kind of things I was watching beforehand and got myself really worried and thought “Ok, the most important thing is that I fall asleep and won’t be aware of anything.”. So, that was really most important to me.

He was put out of action for four weeks. The musician wasn’t even allowed to listen to his own music. Bill killed time alone in front of the television. The 18-year-old bravely kept silent and was even worried about his fans.

It was amazing what was coming from the fans. Erm, how they reacted during that time. I really thought “Oh god, hopefully no one will be miffed at me somehow. Hopefully no one will be cross with me.”. And erm, it definitely felt good to see that everybody is worried and that somehow everybody is there and erm, everybody is going the way together with me and is not abandoning me somewhere there now. (As if we would ever abandon him. ) During that time, this was definitely very helpful and erm, that included some really sweet things. So, somehow somebody sent a toby collar (laughs) because they didn’t really know what it was that I got and erm… So definitely, but there were also a few inhalers and what do I know. So, somehow this is amazing. There really is a whole side of the fridge (lifts arm to indicate) filled with the stuff that I’ve got and so on and there are really boxes with stuff I’ve got twice as well and so on. So, it’s really amazing. Lots and lots of stuff arrived. I believe I couldn’t really look at everything, but definitely the majority.

Erm, so I believe, I’m looking forward to seeing the stage again, seeing the people of the crew again, really seeing all the people again and most importantly the fans, yeah? So really, to see again that I can stand there again… with a microphone in my hand and that something’s coming out of it. I can somehow, erm… (lifts hands)… yeah, so I can make people, the audience happy again. Because to me that was the worst really. That the tour had to be cancelled. That all the disappointed fans that were waiting outside the venue already and were looking forward to the concert so much had to go home. And I can really imagine very well how sh*t that is and… Erm yeah, therefore I felt really sorry for everybody. Therefore I’m really looking forward to be standing there again and to being able to make people happy somehow. (Aww, he wants to make people happy.)

Thursday Tokio Hotel already set off for America. Here they want to introduce their record Scream. Let’s hope that Bill isn’t left without a voice once again.




Who on earth let him watch Awake (he didn't name it but it sounds like it was that film) just before his surgery?! Unbelievable. *lol* I got to say, I love the random film discussion though. ;D

but yes why on earth did he watch that movie before? I know for sure that watching a horror movie especially about that topic would be my last choice to watch if I was facinf a surgery like taht.but I dislike horror anyway LOL

Omg lol, fancy watching a movie like that before having surgery!! Aww, thanks for that translation Susi. How cute is he? As if we`d abandon him! They never fail to be amazed by the support fans give them, and it`s so sweet because they don`t take it for granted like some bands do.

I sure wish I was gonna be at their first performance - that`s gonna be one hell of a show emotionally.
