Best Of album!!!

I kind of feel as if you won't like Hurricanes and Suns very much, Brad. What do you think?

I'm not sure about the video. I mean I didn't expect a really brandnew "real" video but I'm a bit on the fence about this one. Like you said it's such a nostalgia trip that it kind of makes me feel sad even though there's really lovely moments in it. The idea with the rewinding isn't bad. I can get behind that. It somewhat makes sense for a song from a Best Of album. However, right now, I feel as if that idea would've worked better for Schoenes Maedchen aus dem All because with this song they're really going back to 2003 and the time where they first recorded songs with their team of producers etc. So I think it would've been cool to have it rewind until some studio footage from back then... but for Hurricanes and Suns, I just don't know. I'm not enjoying the overall feeling it gives me even though it's not that I don't like video. I was rather surprised that they announced to have a video for Schoenes Maedchen aus dem All anyway and having seen what they've done for the Hurricanes and Suns video, I just don't know what to expect. I'm really curious about tomorrow now.

Know you've said that, I kind of agree. I really like the song and the video, but yeah it would have fitted better with the Devilish song.

It's funny you mention 'feeling sad' Susi, I have to admit, I felt a little sad watching it at certain points. I really love the trip down memory lane, but at the same time, it is a little bittersweet... I'm not sure if this is because of the fact that they are releasing a 'greatest hits', which can sometimes mark the end of an era, but I think... if I'm totally honest... I miss the earlier vibe of TH. As much as I LOVE Humanoid, I think I prefer the pre-cat suit/crazy lights costumes and the short hair... I miss the Bill that wandered onstage with a cool t-shirt and trainers and you could watch his mega spikey hair go that lovely flat/straighened way towards the end of the gig. I wonder what their plans are now. I hope there isn't too long a wait for another album...

I am looking forward to tomorrow alot too ;D

I like this video. I like the whole thing of them going backwards to 2003 but using a fresh song.

I understand some of you feeling sad about missing how they were in the beginning but they`re in their 20`s now and cant be expected to keep that first look forever. I certainly dont think we can tell Bill what to do when it comes to his style. If he`s gonna change it, he`s gonna change it. He`s always gone for a feminine look but its more mature now

pretty good idea playing the vids n clips backwards.. but the song didnt really go with it, i like the song but it just ain't good enough imo.. like all the music vids they used in the video are of songs BETTER than the one playing lol =/

but yeah, that was depressing, makes me miss like 4 years ago =[[

Despite the vids being similar, I prefer Madchen Aus dem all. I just think the video fits better.

I'm not actually feeling sad because I "miss the past" and the looks/image back then but more because I'm uneasy about the future. I just don't know what to expect of it and where it's going and that scares me. I don't mind the change in music style, look, stage outfits or whatever. Whether those things were better or worse, it's all part of the way and process and part of the band history. Plus, it would've been really boring if nothing had ever changed. Some things are great, some not so much etc.

Together those two videos are cute and it's a nice concept for a Best Of but yes, they make me very emotional. If that's the end of a chapter, fine, but I wish we could move on to the next chapter already because this hanging in between and not knowing what will be next is a bit unnerving. *lol*

I really like the re-recorded Version of Maedchen aus dem All though we've lost a few of the more dorky Devilish lyrics, the "new" lyrics are still fun and "Erde ist doch fuer'n Arsch" (could be translated with something like "Earth sucks donkey a**") really made me laugh. That brought back memories as well... cheeky, slightly rude mini TH like in Freunde bleiben where you wouldn't get away with it if it had been in English. I'll never forget the moment my friend walked into the room during Freunde bleiben and it was the "Leck mich. Danke, ist nicht noetig" part of the song. She had never heard it before and cracked up laughing. So yeah, I enjoyed that while listening to the "new" version of Maedchen aus dem All. The video is really cute with the mini TH footage and I'm really happy they included some scenes we hadn't seen before.

(Why am I even on here when I'm at work? This post took me an hour to write. *facepalm* Sorry, if it doesn't make much sense. )

Well we all have our own opinions and Iv nothing against that. I personally dont care about whether songs go with videos and all that. Its TH so Im not bothered. I just dont like to see any faults in them.

sadly theres no vid for 1000 oceans/meere, or vid for hurricanes and suns for some reason.. seems all else is on there though =]

just gotta find a way to convert the dvd to mp4 and put it on my ipod >.<

I find it really odd that the video for 1000 Meere/Oceans isn't on there. Hurricanes and Suns I can understand as it's the new one and even though it would've made sense to include this and Mädchen aus dem All on there as well with all the footage from the past years, they probably weren't done when the CDs/DVDs were put together... but why miss out 1000 Meere/Oceans? The only difference I can see at the moment is that it wasn't an album track (except that 1000 Oceans was a bonus on one of the US album versions) and "only" a b-side. I mean you could probably say the same about Wir schliessen uns ein but that's connected with Der letzte Tag so much that it would be even stranger to cut it off. Still... 1000 Meere/Oceans... hm. Weird.

Anyway, still great to have gotten all the others on one DVD and the Making Ofs.

Ok where the hell can you get it. Iv looked on Amazon and all I see is the CD. There is no mention of a DVD.

HMV is once again got its head up its own arse, not paying attention.

Yeah, it's not on HMV yet and Amazon UK was looking "dodgy" when I checked last night... might end up ordering it and then they decide again that it's out of stock or will take ages for them to get etc.


I've used Amazon Germany. It's not too expensive for the Deluxe version itself but the postage is another 7 Euros.
I ordered my copy in a hurry last night because I suddenly realised that it was Friday today already. Apparently it's getting here some time after Christmas. Wait and see.

hmm i dont think it's not included because it's not on an album (i dont get how they release songs that arent on albums anyway, how do they expect people to buy them =s) because the vids for der letzte tag und wir schliessen uns ein aren't merged together which annoyed me =[[ so its like theyre 2 separate vids

Well, songs like 1000 Meere were b-sides on singles so people got them when they bought a single CD. Aww, I loved those.

Yeah, £30 sounds about right for the deluxe version from German Amazon.
