Dearest THUKST, UK Fanclub and wider TH community,
I wanted to let everyone know personally that I will be stepping down from the THUKST and FC. It will be a gradual process over the next few weeks to hand over to the team, but I want you to help me congratulate Susi and Liz, who will be replacing me jointly at the head. I wish them the very best.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't say a few things. ;D I have been in my Official position over the last 2.5 years. Aside from the Official German Fanclub, the THUKST was the first official Tokio Hotel entity for the fans. It was certainly the first English speaking one. From the very start, we tried to be the very best fan community out there and I have always been committed to being the best ST leader for the fans and for the band.
Like any community, we've had our ups and downs. It's sad that we've probably had more downs, BUT the ups we've had have far outweighed any negatives. We've had the best meet-ups and parties possible and we've had more attention seeking projects than any group. But, sadly, it was not meant to be. Despite a brief flirtation with the UK in 2007, Tokio Hotel have never looked back. Under my leadership, we have failed to grab their attention and even bringing in third parties to try for us has failed. In short, I couldn't bring TH to the UK. And still can't. I cannot tell you whether TH will release their music in the UK again, but I can tell you my opinion, and that opinion is that they won't.
Due to some changes in my personal life and due to the lack of future releases in the UK, it is clear that I am not meant to be a part of the Tokio Hotel journey any longer. I do not know how to lead a UK ST and FC through another album, tour, promotion, etc, that does not include the UK. And after two years of correspondence with Tokio Hotel's management, regularly assuring me that TH will release their music in the UK, I have come to conclude that this is an empty promise that has taken me 2 years to fully come to terms with.
While I have been brutally honest here, I hope that does not change your feelings towards the THUKST as a community and family that will always be there for you as TH fans and as friends. Susi and Liz are the best possible people to lead you through this rough time ahead and the THUKST will never stop being a place where you can chat, make friends, admire TH and be together as UK fans.
I will see you all around as I am still very much a fan of Tokio Hotel. If you wish to stay in touch, please feel free to add me on Twitter or PM me through the forum. I will always have my account here. Thank you so much for being the very best and loyal ST in the world. You all rock. :rock-on:
To all the staff of the ST & FC - Susi, Liz, Nash, Mika, Anna, Becky, Nicole, Skye, Ines and Julia - and the honorary staff - Razzle and Leela - thank you for always being so awesome and supportive. We are always friends first, no matter what. :superlove:
To our forum freunde, always making the forum a happy place - Pev, Amiee, Sophie, Emzie and Jess - thank you for being there for the new fans and always being at the core of the ST. You have been so wonderful and it has been a pleasure to work with you.
And to the staff of the official UK forum where I have been an admin since it rose from the ashes of yabby in April 2008 - Geo, Katie, Mary, Natalie and Marianne - thank you for always taking care of the forum and putting up with me as a terribly absent admin. Your dedication to making that forum work has been greatly appreciated. <3
Best wishes,
Claire
