Uhuh Claire. I think when they were here, Ready, Set, Go wasn't exactly the best song they could have chosen to release. So many people i've showed their songs too have said Monsoon would have done better here, but hey, I'm not their management ;D (wish i was )
They can't ignore us for ever *big grin* They won't want to miss out on us shoving things in their car again LOL And Tom is waiting for another picture...clearly

Well RSG was always supposed to just be an introductory release. Monsoon was supposed to be their breakthrough hit and it was supposed to be out last November. But, they never got that far. I think they're well aware it's their best crossover song.

We'll just have to keep waiting paitiently. I'm sure when they come here, the whole population of the UK will buy their album. Even the Queen + Gordon Brown

Gordon Brown wouldn't, but David Cameron might as he is 'down with the kids' as it were. Although then again, Brown might... Blair used to pretend he liked the arctic monkeys.

There is still much time ahead in their careers in which they can (finally) break thrugh here, and when they do it will be all worth it

Continued from the Diane Warren thread lol ...
So, yes, what angers me most about the whole US thing .... Is that they ( the US ) just aren't embracing what TH are about. I love the guys because they are different. I love their quirkiness, I love that they are German. Even the lyrics - people have said they aren't great etc, but the guys are young and something about the songs really embraces that.
I was really looking foward to the new album and seeing how the songs have matured with their age and everything they have been through over the last year.
But it just feels as though everything I love about them is being smothered in the US.

I don't think there's any definitive plans yet on when the album will be released or when they will promote/tour.
I feel like they're getting smothered in the US too. It's a bit depressing. They're less and less like the band I fell in love with at the beginning of 2007. They are changing to fit the American market, which is just urgh. Things like doing a Diane Warren song, or collaborating with another artist, is all just to be able to appeal to a wider, mainstream, market. If they do that, what's the point?
We're probably jumping the gun, but it's hard not to be worried. I care too much about the band.

Amiee just replying to your post in the DW thread here ....I'm still buying the DVD and keeping my support going, afterall, they're still the band I love the most, but it really kills me to see another band I like going in this direction.
They just need to build they supports back up with europe instead of taking us for granted. Maybe America will slam them and they'll come running back with their tails between their legs? if only. I honestly don't want them to fail in the US. I want them to be successful and happy over there. I just think they could handle the global issue better. That's what's so sad about this. Up until now, it really wouldn't have been that hard to improve things. Just some personal touches to make the fans back home feel less forgotten about.
But now .... A collaboration with a US artist and the DW thing. Dunno if I could still see them as the same band I fell in love with ...
However, having said all that, this is all just doom, gloom and speculation! I do feel really negative about it all and I hate the DW thing.
But these are just feelings I'm having. I'm not writing them off lol, and I'm still looking foward to an awesome album and tour!
It's just hard to overlook the changes that are happening to them . . ..

All bands change naturally, it's always seems to be a goal, when you read in magazines that they want to show new sides to their talent and their music. As long as they don't become completely molded by the industry in ways unnatural, where they aren't themselves anymore it shouldn't be a problem. Then again, if your working with someone it's someone else style and choice in what it sounds like and it isn't the real band in the song

Liz I wasn't meaning I wanted them to fail lol. I just want them to open their eyes and stop for all of the American madness, it doesn't do any good for a band.
They said they weren't collaborating with any other band, which I'm confused about what everyone is going on about here.
I just want them to acknowledge that Europe is still here and that we need attention too...America isn't the only place in the world. in fact. it's one country, where as europe is loads of countries, I know which I would rather keep on my side if I was them. And it doesn't begin with an 'A'.

Lol Amiee, I know you don't. I was just writing it from a personal point of view.
I've decided I'm not going to think about it too much for a while. I've felt really down about it recently and I hate feeling this way.
I'll just keep watching the dvd preview and look foward to that
