Edit by Claire: This thread has now become the moaning thread. You are permitted to b*tch about the UK situation, the concerts and promotion in North America, etc. Whine until your heart's content.
However, we do not condone rudeness. It is not American fans' fault that TH have this schedule. Yes, it is acknowledged that many members of this forum have suffered arrogance, jibbing and general unpleasantness from some US fans. However, be the bigger person and do not rise to it. This does not give you license to be rude about Americans in general, or b*tch about the appearance of the US fans, etc. Be sensible, please.
Thank you. Claire
--- ok. i have SO had enough. i just watched that latest imeem interview- of the guys.... talking about their new favourite place... the USA (no prizes for guessing!!). in those 6 something minutes of video playback my breathing was way out of tune and i actually felt like smashing the d**n screen in. I ACTUALLY WAS REALLY PISSED OFF AT THE GUYS AS WELL!! these days its 'USA this... USA that... here a USA... there a USA... old mcTH had a gig... ee-i-ee-i-o!' I JUST FEEL SO IGNORED!! i know that we have the whole fan action thing going on atm, and i know that we are still waiting for their reply etc... but i actually am getting fed up of their USA obssessions now. i dont hate the american fans so dont get me wrong there or anything, obv all of us fans are united in our love for TH etc etc, we always help each other out and stuff ya know! BUT I DONT EVEN KNOW WHO TO BE ANGRY AT?!!! -LIKE IM ANNOYED AT THE GUYS BECOS THEY TALK ABOUT AMERICA SO MUCH. ok yh even tho its for interviews and stuff... BUT TONE IT DOWN A LITTLE YH?!! FOR THE SAKE OF GOD! -THE RC. but the RC has stooped so low i have no words to describe their patheticness anymore. -TOM: get over the short skirts/ perving over them. 75%+ kids in britain have seen raw porn by the time theyr 12... period. -Georg aka 'George'. you were born georg. not 'george'. or would you like a cigar with that sir? -BILL: your voice is amazeful. THE WORDS COMING OUT ARE NOT. please go hire yourself a private soundproof cubicle where i dont have to hear them anymore. -GUSTAV. ily bcos you stay silent. wow i actually love you. NICE PERSON. -SOMEBODY- IM PEED OFF AT SOMEBODY. I NEED TO KNOW WHO THAT SOMEBODY IS. point is: I DONT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF TOKIO HOTEL IN THE BIG, WIDE USA ANYMORE!! thing is its not even jealousy anymore, it feels like betrayal or something (cos theyr always saying how much they owe it to their fans, how much they love us etc... but recently i think we must all be wearing invisibility cloaks innit). i actually feel hurt and angry. im gonna go off to do coursework now. which wont be healing my pain bcos its based on TH. oh and half the stuff up there wont make sense to guys most prob, becos i am pissed off out of my mind atm, and at that time i usually babble like a rabid dog. sorry. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdqd6Ya_D8c&eurl=http://www.tokiohotel.org.uk/ and this is the vid for anyone who wants to know. oh and yes i hate them talking about america, but i still listen to it because i am an idiot. i shall so regret half the words i have said right now because atm i am majorly angry and had to get it out of my system to people on my wavelength. in the morning i shall hit myself for saying this most prob. but still i do not love NYC. i want kraig, hed make me feel better. ugh.

Hey guys
Yes it is clear TH is making more of an effort with America, then maybe any other country they have tired to break ? But maybe this is becuase its every artists dream is to break America for some unknown reason, I mean even McFly are trying to bugger of to that country. Maybe they just HAVE to try more, and Im sure they only speak about America so much is becuase thats all they are getting asked about, and the American RC know how to do there job porperly, unlike our piece of rubbish .
I am just as sick about hearing about them aswell, I am so annoyed at how America media is opening its door to TH and how it is appearing so easy and fast for there success to grow there,I MEAN THAT SHOULD BE US AND WOULD BE US, if our RC wasnt so freaking backward.
It just burning me. But I am not going to take it out on the boys, becuase if I do I have nothign left, that would even more cripple my dreams, it would make me hate the band, and Iv never hated them at all. Were here as an ST and we have to keep the TH love going, so wenever you feel like hating the band give yoruself a good kick up the but and hate the RC some more hahha..
also BIG HUGS TO ALL OF US ... for dealing with this insane crap.

Well, the reality of the situation as far as I can analyse it and speculate is this.
Last year Tokio Hotel attempted to break the UK market. It didn't go so well. They didn't try. Universal Germany didn't keep an eye on the UK record label, it all fell apart because the UK record label's commitment was none existant and Tokio Hotel left feeling rejected.
Shortly after the release of RSG in this country, someone working for the ~management~ suddenly appeared and it's his job to work online magic. They suddenly realised that TH are only going to rise if they work the internet properly.
They also realised that the record labels in English speaking countries need support. This is unusual in the music industry. The amount of work the management do to support Universal is very unusual, but they are determined to see TH succeed everywhere.
They also realised that TH will need a lot of promoting and work to make it big in the USA since the UK failed so terribly the first time around.
So all this stuff about the USA is a direct result of their failure in this country. High profile websites, magazines, TV, etc are going to get this stuff. It will continue until at least the end of April, so do expect that. They want to do it right the first time in the USA, they won't make the same mistake they did with the UK.
Plus, in North America they have an awesome record label. Interscope are amazing. They rep all the biggest US acts. Don't forget that in the UK, TH are on Fascination, who are only really repping Girls Aloud. Their experience is well limited.
It's not the boys fault. They're being asked the right questions, they're being told to talk about the USA. Think about it - they're trying to build a North American fanbase, what do fans love more than anything else? To hear the boys talk about their country, about them personally as fans, etc. They feel closer to them. From a marketing point of view, this is really important.
It's also why at least 75% of those letters that were sent on Final Day UK specified that UK fans feel left out because they've never received a personalised video.
I know some of you weren't fans back in the days of RSG being released, but those of you who were will remember that we got nothing like any of these specials that NA are getting. We got one 10 second clip of Tom pretending to advertise the single. And the only place they put it was on the official website.
Now they're learning the impact of other online marketing - TH TV is for America really, even though they say it's for everyone. Imeem, again, is for America, even though they say it's also really important for the UK.
That's not to say that when they finally do decide to come back here (and they will, that I'm sure of) they won't do the same. If they sort themselves out and reinvade using the type of techniques they are for NA, it should all work out. Believe me, I think they've learned their lesson.

Why don't they just try a little harder with the UK?? If they break through the UK then they are well on the way to breaking America! All our music gets played over there anyway! Grr America ruins bands.....I don't want TH going down the same road as HIM... We should petition for Radio 1 to play them on air ;D LOL

We should petition for Radio 1 to play them on air ;D LOL The biggest mystery the street team has ever experienced is that last year I started a campaign to get TH played on R1. It was a full on massive project. But, the record label put a stop to it. They asked us to stop contacting R1. And, as an aside, they were also not happy that we contacted CH4 to get them to air TH in the EMAs. The world of the record label has never made sense to me. Do not ask me to explain it. Just imagine the frustration I've had in trying to do anything with the street team. I mean, I didn't want to go against the record label, but they blocked us quite a lot. Claire

Well, I`m the same - actually I don`t bother watching the videos anymore because, yah, I feel kinda hurt. BUT ... and here comes the but .... They are 18! They`re 18. And they are being asked to be responsible for thousands of people`s happiness worldwide! It`d be laughable if it actually wasn`t kinda true. What Claire said is right - this is a learning curve for them. They are learning how to work the market, and unfortunately, it`s not our market they`re working. That`s horrible, yes. I feel the same as everyone else. But they`re are young and successful and we HAVE to allow them to enjoy it - no matter how hard it is. Yeah, they are banging on about the USA. And frankly I`m sick to my back teeth of it - much the same as my friends are sick of me banging on about TH! Because that`s what young people do. Whatever we are into at the time - we go on and on about it. Right? I support fan action to bring them to the UK. Strongly support it. And I want the guys to listen to us, and acknowledge us. But I can`t bring myself to begrudge them the excitement and happiness they must be feeling right now. Yeah, I want a piece of it lol. But .. sheesh, I don`t even know what to say anymore. Just, I feel bad about the USA situation, kinda bitter, and I don`t like feeling that way. But I want them to be happy and have their dreams come true. And of course .... they are being told to be super enthusiastic, to say certain things ... ( even though I`m sure it`s all for real ) Well, here`s my final thought ... What I hope is this ... That they have learnt a huge amount about selling themselves. And that when they evenually DO come back to the UK, we will benefit from that and that WE will then be the envy of everyone else as they spread the love to the British fans. ;D edit * HUH! The record label stopped the campaign to get them on air?? WTF is that all about .... * sigh *

I'm not even sure the guys were up for the USA thing so soon....Bill mentioned before going to America that they wanted to finish conquering the rest of Europe before they moved onto the USA (and Tom was agreeing with him).....it's the managments fault! blame the managment LOL

I hate to say it...but I really do think that its likely that TH will have to make it big in the US before they make a come back in England. It's a real pitty that it didn't work out well for TH on their first visit. But I agree with Claire that there really wasn't enough promotion for TH back then and hopefully with their tour to America the record labels etc. may have learnt a thing or too, so when they come back.... and they will eventually it'll be much better than before. You should try not to get too angry at TH, making it in America is going to a real task for them and I'm sure they're trying to do whats best for the band at the moment... even if they might be taking it a bit to far with the 'George' thing. I agree that it is upsetting and us UK fans really do feel left out but as i've said before that's what this Street Team is for... keeping us positive and not letting us forget why we're all here and think TH is so great in the first place. There's really been a lot of talk about TH not coming back the UK and people getting upset at the record label recently and yes it is a bit depressing (well not for nicole she gets to go and see them live ), but I really hope this attitude and mood isn't going to brought along to the meet-up next month. The meet-up is for us to celebrate TH and why we're all fans and think about the positive things and I hope you'll agree with me that we should try and keep the meet-up as up beat and positive as possible. Feeling just as frustrated, but refusing to give up, Holly EDIT Sorry, I know this is a bit Off - Topic, but it's something a really wanted to say and I didn't really know where to say it...

I've decided to give up caring now. Obviously they have to do what they have to. And if that's America...then fine...That's what we have to deal with. But they had better come back We are still here and we always will be. We'll make sure they won't forget us damnit. And when they do, we'll have to do something impressive to show how much better we are than the damn US.
