I thought I'd start a thread for fashion, where we can discuss the latest trends, what we like and don't like, and what sort of clothes make us tick. I'm not one for being constantly up-to-date with the season's must-wear accessories, which I find a bit silly and over-rated (/over-expensive), but I do like the art side of fashion, as it were. Perhaps the more 'gaga' side I suppose make-up and purfume can be discussed here too. BY THE WAY, fashion may be a touchy subject, as the jumper that you are dissing may be what Person A wears every day, so let's critisise (and compliment) like it's art or a movie, and accept other people's views on dress-style, as not to be offensive One thing I'd like to mention is how I rather tire of reading trashy magazines and seeing dresses with belts right under the bust, making the hips look too high

I'm sick of the site of the ubiquitous shiny leggins... and hairbands around foreheads. You see groups of people out all dressed the same! Baa, baa!

Hmm. Not to label them, but what might be reffered to as a 'chav' is the sort of person that might wear the same stuff as their friends. I think it's because 'those sort of people' are afraid of being different, and they all dress the same (sports labels and too much makeup [on girls]). I like to experiment- if not with myself, than with designs. One thing I've always thought is that corsets shouldn't be automatically associated with women. I think some androgynous men, or just thin men would suit them. Just like waistcoats work on women. For example (Shin ;D ): I think at the moment, my favorite designs are frilly blowses and flicky collars I've been after white gloves for some time now. This is nice. I think my sort of thing is period clothing made modern...

Just what I thought! But perhaps if it were designed in a 'male-friendly' way, so that it suited him as a male. I mean like without all the frills and things.

I love leggins and long tops right now. Also cute little summer skirts and dresses.

ohh yes, if I could afford it I'd only shop at fairy goth mother (www.fairygothmother.co.uk) and be a total corseted glamazon... like Dita. She's my style heroine; she NEVER has an off day! (L)

Haha. Shin looks good in that XD But then, some guys actually look good dressed in more feminine clothes. I also hate it when people where the same things as their friends. Like when on non-uniform days at school theres a massive bunch of girls who always were nearly identical skinny jeans, shirts and dolly shoes. Now, I own skinny jeans, shirts and dolly shoes, but I never wear the same thing as my friends, and I never wear my shirts on non-uniform days because I'll look the same as half of the girls in the year There's lot of stuff I like but don't have the guts to wear as well. I don't wear shorts, ever, because even though my friends say they look good, I have paranoia that they make my legs look fat

I agree, phsycofairy. I couldn't afford most of the clothes I like, so I mainly wear tops and track-suit bottoms/jeans. But I also like hats. Big ones. Perhaps with a big feather or a big bow (I like bows ). I like big umbrellas to... (Look at the lady's hat in the penultimatly far right one, and the lady's parasol in the far right one)

I quite like the fashion for this season, especially the dresses - I'm not really fond of neon colours right now - they're more rave / club wear. I usually go for what I like rather than follow all the latest trends.

Yeah, the dresses this year are nice. But I tend to wear jeans throughout the summer. I'm so paranoid about my body! The only time I don't wear jeans is if I go abroad, then it's just too hot to do that. I don't wear a lot of the clothes I like because generally I'm scared to... I don't like being noticed loads. But I'm getting better, gradually

I normally wear skinnies and either a random top (like my robot top) or a band top and a jacket. I never wear my TH one .. But I love the summer skirts and dresses that have come out this season.
