Ok guys, Download Day has arrived! It's happening 16th May 2009 and you've got all day to download An deiner Seite (as many times as you want ) from the HMV website.
Let's show the UK fans' support today and follow the instructions posted by Claire a few days ago:

International Fanaction.


Considering new information about the real impact of the whole story with the stalkers and the band, we thought that for once, they really need a huge demonstration of love from their real fans.
We were here for them , when bill was sick... and along all things they went through this last 3 years and half.
Thats why we raised up a Fanaction, that we need to be global and international to show them our endless support and respect for their music and for the boys they are.


So here is the deal, i’m part of the French forum THSekunde (http://tokiohotelsekunde.forumandco.com/). We believe most of the Fanctions won’t be known by the band (unfortunately), or even by other fans worldwide. That’s why we decided to organize a BIG GLOBAL action for all the countries supporting Tokio Hotel, not only Tom, but all the band.
We want to do a big download day on the song « ich bin da » (or “by your side", depends on your country). The aim is to make a huge buzz and to take the song on the top of the worldwide charts ! If it succeeds, the band, medias, people, and all fans will know it immediately : why a song available for 2 years (1 year in some countries) is suddendly #1 ? We choose “ich bin da” because of the lyrics. We want this action to be broadcast everywhere the same day.
We all know the atmosphere is extremely COLD between worldwide fans, it’is the biggest opportunity to change it and show everyone that we are united by music. As a return to the source. The download-day will be on May, 16th on iTunes.


Some of the staff from this forum will be back to explain you how iTunes works.
Thanks for helping us to support our boys.
The Official Fanclubs from Croatia, Switzerland, Estonia, Italy, France, and USA are already ok with the project.

Hello,
I'm writing to inform you of a worldwide project of support to Tokio Hotel. As you may know, the band has been harassed lately by a group of French stalkers, and under their pressure, Tom Kaulitz (19 years old, guitarist) has snapped and punched one of the girls. These girls have attacked not only the band members but also their relatives!
Due to these events, the band has put their new album on hold for the time being.
Since then, fans in the entire world have decided to react. We have cast a worldwide project to show our support to the band. We want to make May 16 a Download Day of the song 'Ich Bin Da' (or its English version 'By Your Side', depending on the countries). The goal is to create a huge buzz and put the song on top of the world charts. If it works, the band and all their fans will know it right away : why would a song released 2 years ago become N°1 suddenly?
We chose 'Ich bin da' for its lyrics. We want this action to happen everywhere in the world on the same day.
We all know that there is a lot of tension between fans right now. This is the best way to change that and to show everyone that we're united by music.

I've just checked and you were right. I don't know what we're gonna do for the UK fan... That's too bad. You're maybe the "only" country who won't be able to participate
I'll tell you what we do about that in the next few days. Hope w're going to find a solution!

It's a great fan action and I'm sure loads of UK fans would love to join if only An deiner Seite or By your side were available for us to download in this country. Shame really.

We'll support it, of course, but unless you come up with a "solution" for the UK fans we can only do so by posting on our website, myspace etc to help and spread the word amongst international fans who can participate in the actual part of downloading.

Right on the amazin website you can download the German version of Ich Bin Da!

Go to the amazon website go on mp3 downloads in the little drop down menue by the search bar, then type in tokio hotel in the search bar, the song will come up as -

Hm yes, the idea was to do it on iTunes... however, I just had a look on the UK amazon and it does come up as an mp3 download like Freya said. Seems to be taken from some German CD. Hm, not sure if that would work because it's from a German CD but maybe...

I feel so deprived! Poor UK iTunes I might download the one from Amazon but I'll just spread the word anyway. Whoever came up with this fanaction was pretty clever.

The girl who arranged it left a message on THA -

"please wait. We have contact itunes for this problem which concern some countries, we are waiting for the answer.
We try to find a solution but don't spread to download another song, beacause we want to have the count (?) from each country for IBD/BYS."

I hope they get somewhere, we just need the single for the one day but I have a feeling it's not up to iTunes what singles it can sell, it'll be the label and the band, right?

but im sure if it was and they got to contact with tokio hotel.
they'd be happy to know we want zimmer 483 CD on iTunes right?

Yeah its a good idea, and I hope itunes will put the song on.
Yeah i understand it would be easyer and it was the idea to do it on itunes, was just trying to think of away that we could still do it if it wasnt on itunes, because us UK fans ALWAYS seem to get left behinde, we never get much merchandise and Tokio Hotel nver seem to do concerts here and now if we couldnt do this, and show our support, it would just be so upsetiing that we couldnt show them how much we are backing them up over here...

anyway it was just an idea the amazon thing... hopefully itunes will pull through!
