Update - Red Carpet definitely casting

Hey guys,

We felt that we should warn you that there is a possibility, probably a strong one, that the red carpet for the MTV EMAs will be done by a casting. A casting is like an audition. They want to choose the right type of people for their show. If that is the case, it is likely that not everyone will make it onto the red carpet. Even more, at this time we don't even know if any of us will be able to go to a casting, or if we will fit the criteria.

Now, at this time we do not know if this is what MTV are doing. As it is so close, we thought maybe not. Plus, they didn't cast for the audience as they have in past years, and at the VMAs, so it's possible they won't cast for the red carpet.

However, last year in Germany, they did a casting for the red carpet ONE WEEK before the show. So please PLEASE keep this in mind. Unfortunately, I've been informed by one person that MTV always casts, but who knows.

What we will do about the fan meet-up, I'm not sure. Obviously, we're down on numbers because it's mid-week and in Liverpool. I have a feeling that if we have to be cast for the red carpet, even fewer people will be in Liverpool. I don't know myself if I want to pay the £95 train fare for no show and no red carpet.

However, the band will be in Liverpool and we can always go to their hotel. So basically if the red carpet is a casting we will probably cancel the fan meet-up in its current incarnation, but we might still have an informal meet-up.

Sorry for the news. I will update as soon as I can on this. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get a response from MTV and no one at the Echo arena seems to know anything.

Your choice on that, Aimee. Most of the time record label and management release hotel information as they want fans there. We would only go if they gave the information to us. If they did it would mean that they want some fans there to welcome the band and make a bit of a fuss with the media.

Because ive been to plenty of these things, e.g. premieres and such, and ive never had to audition, or do you mean, to WALK down the red carpet?? :/

No, I mean waiting at the barrier. I too have been to many red carpets - premieres, BAFTAs, etc, and I know they don't do it, but MTV always have in the past elsewhere. But, it's a bit unknown at the moment. It's not something I've seen before in the UK, but that doesn't mean they won't.

Only the celebs walk down the red carpet - no one else, people with tickets go in a different entrance, or after/before.

I'm still going, I didn't fork out 134 quid for a hotel room for f*ck all. It's not as if we won't be able to stand anywhere near the red carpet; it's probably the front row right by the barriers that the castings are for.

Because I know at the BAFTAs you get a wristband if youre like in the first 100? or whatever, and becki, not onlu celebrities walk down it, civillians do too.

At an awards show everyone walks down the red carpet, however I don't know how they do it when there are bought tickets and the general public. I'm gonna say it will be a different entrance. Or different time of arrival. It is pretty boring on a red carpet until the stars arrive because you just watch random media folk and comp winners arrive.

The Echo arena told me that the red carpet would be cordoned off, just like it is in the BAFTAs. I just want everyone to be prepared that it might not be possible - these events are often very strict and there's no way of getting around them if they have rules for the red carpet.

And even if we don't get to the red carpet hopefully we will be able to see and support TH somehow (:

And by criteria, what do they usually do?
Like the most crazed fans or the prettiest or what?

I was thinking about that as well as I remember the damn casting from last year....
I was wondering that nothing was announced yet...as it's getting closer.
I was thinking about not coming then but yeah I want to see you guys and there is the chance of the hotel and stuff so I guess I will still come =)

But even if we can't get to the carpet and there is a chance of hotel information, I'll still happily plod along xD
My parents might be a little weird with it, But they want me happy and if i see TH i will be =)

In the end, even if we can't be at the red carpet we'd still have a great time. We did in London, on the 26th of April, so you know. I don't think we should just not go if we can't see the boys enter the arena, y'know?

The fact of if we're there, doing our street teaming lovin' we'll be promoting TH more, seeing friends again and having a blast like we do. I wouldn't like to see this meet-up be terminated, so to speak, just 'cause we can't support the boys on the Red Carpet when we can support them in Liverpool in other ways.

even though it would be awesome to cheer to the boys-if it's not possible we will just have a good time on our own

and who knows maybe we will be lucky-just for once as the UK isn't really lucky regarding TH stuff so...Liz is part of the fan walk. the EMAs are in Liverpool, TH is coming...let's just see
