Reading is West of London, kind of North West from Guilford. There's a good map HERE if you want to take a look. It's the red area!
Becki is right though. There's never a convenient place for everyone. The regional meet ups will make it easier for everyone to go to one, but there will almost certainly still be some travel involved for the majority of people.
