Ooh, I'm watching that right now! And so far, it's been pretty horrific! I don't see how people could put dogs through so much pain just so they look a bit better (in their eyes).

It was really upsetting. I cried a bit.
My best friend is the press officer for The Dogs Trust. It's like the biggest dog charity in the country. Her job is to basically get dogs in newspapers and magazines and get publicity for dogs and the dogs charity. So we're all about the dogs at the moment.
Anyway, she didn't watch it because she was too upset, but her boss says she has to watch. Poor thing.

pedigree is a dog? i thought you were talking about the food brand? personally i wouldnt buy ANYTHING off pedigree the food brand either, the way that they treat dogs is disgusting. i also really have a thing against dog breeding, its totally not natural. thats like henry viii remarrying wives til he got a son, .. erm dogs being forced to breed with each other until a better dog is born. okay so its not the same, but, people should just let dogs do their thing, and then look after the offspring.
where can i see this? online? or what channel was it on?

urggh. i just got an ad for 'pedigreestuddogs.co.uk for uk breeders' at the top of my page. i know its not weird, because of the whole way the ad thing works, but its sorta gross. i cant believe humans are at the point where we are buying, selling and exploiting life simply because its.. well less superior? i know its a way of life now, people do it for a living and stuff, but planet of the apes comes to mind right now.. i bet someday the world actually could be like that.

I finished watching it on bbc iplayer... yesterday, and I thought it was bad at the start. By the end of it, I couldn't quite believe it could be real. The boxer that kept fitting was so sad. And the king charles spaniels! They looked so sad, and one of the dogs was crying... I don't think that type of dog breeding for showing is right either. The way the breeders talked about putting down healthy dogs if they didn't look right... I wouldn't be able to do it! Seeing your own dog die due to old age is one thing. Putting a healthy dog down is terrible.

I couldn't watch all of it cause it was too sad. I've got two dogs, a pedigree labrador, Lucy aged nine, and a mongeral, Millie aged three. My labrador has hip dispacier(sp?) and elbow arthiritos(sp?) and has had both since she was a puppy, her illnesses are incurable because they can't operate on one thing without putting strain on the other. She is lucky because we have treated them and kept her weight down as so many otherwise healthy labs have to be put down because of this breeding defect. The breeders are so in the wrong because in their quest for the perfect dogs they are actually killing them and they are too stubbon to see that! *Rant over*

I just watched it on BBC iplayer and really wish I didn't. I cried and got really angry with those breeders who said they could put healthy puppies down because they didn't look like the natural breed, ie the Rhodesian Ridgeback. I just can't believe how selfish breeders can be, just because they want the perfect breed.

I didn't watch it - but it's disgusting what goes on. Our dog Poppy my mum took from a breeder. I mean, actually walked in, picked her up and took her! They were guilty of so many different acts of cruelty there was no way they were even gonna think about trying to get her back.
Several people have since tried to have some thing done about him, but he's still breeding. Gah.
The Dogs Trust.

It's a great charity. I love all animals, but dogs have a special place in my heart.

I can't watch it, anything to do with animals I can't watch. It makes me physically sick to watch people abuse animals.
If someone can tell me what it's about please so I don't have to watch it. I am begging you.
