While I was home I looked through some photo albums for a few pics to post. Aww, good old days when I was still little and cute. Ha ha.
Ok, almost all of my childhood pics up until the time I started school are black and white. I'm older than most of you but I'm not ancient.  Coloured photos were kind of luxuary in the GDR. Apparently pretty much exorbitant so that's why most pics are black and white.
My second Christmas. The thing in the background is the Christmas tree. Ha ha.
Me in nursery school and it was "Fasching" so we're all dressed up. I'm wearing a light blue bell flower costume that my grandma made for me. The guy holding my hand was my best friend up until year one in school when he moved away. He's dressed up as a ladybird.
Randomly happy in my room:
First day at school. Me with my "Zuckertüte" and my sister with her little one. Siblings always get one (smaller version), too, even though it may not be their first day at school. One of the first colour pics of me. I'm wearing a pink "balloon skirt" which, again, was made by my grandma. The black and white pic is me sitting at my desk in my new class room. Dodgy haircut. Not looking too happy, eh? I was the only one who had to sit by herself because the girl that was supposed to sit next to me had to repeat the year so she wasn't there that day (obviously she already had her "first day at school" the year before). She turned out to be a right bully. Gosh, the grief she gave me because e.g. one of my 2s in my maths exercise book wasn't perfect! She lived accross the street from our school. A few weeks/months *?* later she was hit by a car and ended up in a wheelchair and with brain damage. That was quite tough and I didn't really know how to deal with it as she was really mean to me, yet I felt sorry for her. She never came back to school.
Oh, those pics were taken on 1st September 1988, btw. 1st September was always the first day of school after the summer holiday in the GDR. Now imagine how much more the twins would have hated school if the first day would have always been on their birthday. *lol*

Ok, I don't know why I said before that I'd have to look for pics of me, they were surprisingly easy to find... And please ignore my ridiculous facial expressions in quite a few of these pictures, I have no idea why I ever thought it was attractive to smile like that...
