Sophie [=-bum: German is a complicated language if you ask me.even germans sometimes fail to use it properly but have a try my french is quite bad too I suppose but I wouldn't starve ;D well I guess teh words of the TH songs aren't used quite often in colloquial german^^ at least the poetic stuff so I think it's hard to understand anything, right? I once was shopping in the UK and when some people next to me spoke german I dind't realize and wondered what language they were talking in LOL. NekoLain:hey another new member =) hello to you. kiri: I'm very excited about it as I said I can understand that but I always wanted to spend a year abroad and as I like children and english I thought au-pait being a good idea thanks, I ones created the name because I'm so addicted to purple ;D katikus: australia? wow. I ones had a girl atending my class who was from australia named kate too. but as she has birthday in september you probably not her ;D but anyway hello. omg you have been to so many countries.I'm jealous no haters? great thing to hear.

You didn't understand them? My aunti was telling me how different parts of Germany have their own way of the language, words are changed ect. I find German the easiest language I have ever tried to learn and I'm going to stick at it ;D

But that is quite funny You think so? Okay, but there are so many grammar rules and differences and only the articles der, die, das. don't you think that's complicated?^^ great thing to hear ;D

Hey, welcome Leela! I've taken german for three years now, I find some of it easy, but der, die, das and endings and past tense confuse me hehe, but I'm also going to stick with learning it as I love languages.

I just take it all in my stride... Yeah, when she was telling me, I was like, oooh cool hehe! I failed at french! I didn't understand or remember the masculine and feminine things for nearly every word.

I find German the easiest language I have ever tried to learn and I'm going to stick at it ;D SNAP! I'm practically fluent in it. ^-^ ;D Not to brag or anyfink. But yeah, diff parts of Germany have diff accents so someone in Cologne (Northrhine Westphalia) might not entirely understand someone from Munich (Bavaria) or whatever.

I think that's true everywhere tho, I have a friend from Manchester (not to insult any mancunians here) and some of the slang she uses has to be clarified to everyone else.

lolz, I have my own dictionary so people can understand osme of the slang I use, and I'm from Wolverhampton, and I highly doubt anyone else from Wolverhampton uses the slang I use. It's strictly Snowy-slang!

I mean german isn't a really melodic language but I wouldn't call it violent. but anyway maybe some people have that impression.dunno. well I mean WW2 was like to be honestly the biggest shit and I hate what happened so therefore i can understand people disliking germany but I don't feel like most of the people nowadays have anything to do with it. That's quite a difficult topic to talk about with people especially in France and the UK I suppose.

I find it stupid, the fact people hate germans because of the war! I get really pissy with those people! You can't blame the modern day people for what happened in the past...it's stupid to do that! gah, alot of people still need to grow up in the UK I think... Sometimes, I'm even ashamed to class myself as British, because each country I have been too, you always see the british acting out and making a fool of themselves! I know not all brits are like that, but some people don't really seem to realise how much they show the country up... I'm part french, so I get away with not being fully british...muahahahaha! Ooops! This turned into a rant!
WELCOME ALL NEW ALIENS! Once again, I'm amiee (:
