I love you guys! Reading through the thread made me laugh and really helped me brave the videos now. I haven't watched anything yet. After I got back from work I thought I'd watch them immediately but then I couldn't get myself to do it. I was too nervous and emotional. This is just so huge... our four guys from Magdeburg sitting in NY, "taking over Times Square", being on TRL and doing the whole thing in English. I just got so overwhelmed, I didn't know how to handle it. I'm so proud and happy. Gosh, the excitement. I can relate so much to Tom shaking. I feel a bit stupid for being like that but wth. *lol* Ok, I think I'm ready to watch the videos now. ;D

Thanks guys! *hugs* I've made it through part I. *lol* Oh my, at one point I got a bit teary. So weird to hear them speak English like that. It's amazing!!! ;D (And thanks to them for making it clear that the Hoff is not this superstar in Germany everybody wants to make him out to be... that was aaaages ago. Maybe now, people will actually believe it. )
Edit: I've watched it all now and it was just fantastic. Loved it. They did brilliantly! Aww at Tom for saying they would be so nervous because their English was so bad and Bill's "at school" was so cute. I loved the jokes and that the presenter didn't get Tom's joke about playing instruments in English (or at least wasn't sure if it was a joke) and I loved Bill's "What?!". It's so typical. We say that a lot in German. If we don't understand something we go "Was?" and then you usually have an adult nearby that tells you off for it, saying: "You don't say `Was?`it's `Wie bitte?`!" which is the more polite way to ask. But it's kind of hard to stick to it. *lol* But saying "What?" in English is even more rude than it is in German. I find it hard to get rid of it though and kick myself every time I've said it again (yeah, I still do it sometimes ) because I know it sounds awful. It's so cute how Bill says it though. Christina was great. And how Bill and Tom giggled at her. Jeez, when she suddenly screamed at Bill and the hug. Ha ha. I could imagine that she was actually refraining herself from more hyperness the best she could. Bless her. The performance was ace! Yes, Bill's voice still sounds a bit weak but I don't think they would let him do it if it would be too much of a risk. He wouldn't let himself do it even if he was eager to get back on stage. I don't know if there has been a translation for the news bits they had on German TV a while ago (same interview setting as with Bild, the white shirt etc) but there he talked about how hard it was to keep absolutely silent for 10 days (including an anecdote about him being at a petrol station and people thinking he was having some kind of diva moment because he wouldn't speak to them *ha ha*) but that he would take it very seriously and pulled through it always paying a lot of attention to follow the strict orders exactly and that he would do anything that was asked of him just out of fear that he could mess it up and would not heal properly. I think, he wouldn't do the performances if they were to risky. Not after all that. I just trust in that. I think those little performances (not whole concerts) help him to get used to using his voice again, to test the waters and also to get back his confidence with regards to his voice. He needs those performances and I'm sure it will be fine.
I just loved the performance. The way Bill worked with the crowd (I'm surprised no one fainted *lol*), his boldness and usual way, how naturally he let them sing the parts. Just wow! I particularily loved that because it's just the way Tokio Hotel perform and I loved that they didn't change that, not even for this kind of US TV. It shows how awesome they work with their fans and vice versa. Also that Bill has lots of faith in their fans to sing back the songs. It's awesome that he can do that wherever they are and that the fans don't let them down. It's such a beautiful relationship and it's great that they let everyone see it. Just aww.

Saying 'What?" is really only considered rude in British English. In the U.S., unless it's a super-formal occasion or a very elderly person, we would always say 'what?'
I loved the bit where Damian asked about the video and Bill was like "nyooo yaahk?" LOL. Overall, I was so impressed with their English, though. And their accents were cute, but not so strong that it made them difficult to understand. I think people who hadn't heard of them before seeing that are really going to be charmed by them.

i think a little of Bill holiding back when singing is also to do with the fact that meybe he's still not 100% confident that he can sing like before and still sound great and he doesnt have to worry that much, like maybe he's thinking too much!
loved hearing the G's speak english even if it wasnt much! and the twins (Tom in particular ;D) shuold slow down a bit when talking!lol although that's probably impossible for them! XD
i liked that Damien didnt talk to them rreeaallllyyy ssslloowwllyyy as if they were slow!

LOL! Skye I still laugh when I think of that girl! CILLT BANG! ROFL!
I didn't think the twins spoke that fast... That could be to do with the fact that I speak fast myself and even my mum tells me to slow down most of the time. Their accents don't seem as strong as they used to be and I miss that
