Fund raising is a good idea. Also, even if we don`t wanna go down the regular money road, maybe if there was something specific the team wanted to do, it could be worked out exactly how much it`ll cost and people could donate if they wanted? Like on a project by project basis, now and again, rather than just randomly giving money?

YUP atm i just wanna know if ppl would be ok with giving money, and so far everyone seems ok with it (: once i know that ppl would would be glad with giving money then im sure that we could all work together on stuff like fundraisers etc to raise money? and also yup that project by project thing, rasiing money for each prject that could also work i guess, & it would be more organised too (:

I think it's a great idea I'm poor atm though, I owe my dad LOADS of money. But, I'll pay that off when I do well in my exams and he gives me lots of reward money.

I think it's a great idea but I'm slightly confuzzled... What exactly would the money go towards? I think it would help pay for all the shizz at meet ups. Because at the moment the mods pay loads towards it, and it's not really fair. I think that's what it's for anyway XD

Interesting idea. I'm not sure though.
I know i probably wouldn't be able to donate.
It may cause a problem with people going OTT with donating =/ Like, could donate too much and get in trouble for it or find out you need that money for something important?
Ehh, maybe put a limit on how much you can donate and if people REALLY want to donate more then they can contact someone or set something up?
I really don't know. I just don't have any money as it is and i know that if i had money in my bank i'd get tempted to donate it all xD

Hey guys,
This is all very overwhelming - I think it's so amazing that you guys want to do something like this for TH and for the street team. The dedication and support everyone shows as a community is amazing. TH should be very proud. I am personally very proud of all our great street teamers and your commitment. If I could give you more, I would. I know there's an element of frustration in having nothing to work with, but believe me, every little post on the internet, every friend you convert, every poll you vote in, makes a huge difference.
Money is a difficult thing. Personally, I would not want to responsibility of a 'fund'. And I don't think that parents would be happy about such a thing either. We have to remember that most TH fans do not have their own source of income or way of paying for anything online. And, you guys do not know me. I am trustworthy and responsible (many of you have met me and know that the street team is a safe place to put your trust), but do not take it for granted that giving money on the internet is safe. Although it's a good idea in theory, in practice it's a lot harder.
There's also the added fact that we shouldn't have to use our own spending money for such a thing. If, and when, the record label wants us to promote TH fully, they will supply us. Take a look around at some other street teams, such as Elliot Minor, for ideas on what record labels can provide. Tokio Hotel are fast becoming one of the biggest bands in the world. They're a multi-million pound investment. It's not up to us, as fans, to dig into our pockets any further than to make sure we buy singles and albums and DVDs and concert tickets when we can.
That said, as fans and a community, sometimes we want to do something for ourselves. We have discussed among the admin team starting a collection for the fan meet-up so that we can hire a room and possibly watch the live DVD as part of our day. We think this will be fun, a good bonding experience, and a way to get a little bit of a live show experience during a time when all the other countries are getting live shows and we are not.
For this, we are considering starting a fund shortly to reach a target amount. When that amount is reached, we will stop collecting money. If all goes well, and we have a need for anything in the future, we can collect more. But an open fund can't happen because it puts too much pressure on us and it makes the street team look a little dodgy when new people come along who don't know us, me or what we're about.
I'm interested in your thoughts because I am touched that you all care enough about the street team and the band to donate your money, which I know you probably don't all have much of as young people. The answer is creativity! I love the idea of the cookies, bakesales and things like that. If you are motivated enough, here's what you can do to help. Raise money for the DVD watching at the fan meet, raise money for competition prizes, etc. I can take donated ITEMS for prizes. If you want to donate anything, PM me and we'll work it out. Bring cookies to the fan-meet!
I hope you guys understand my point of view and why we can't run anything quite like this. But, I'm really loving all the support and big love and I admire your dedication.
Claire xxxx

I totally understand where you`re coming from. I`ve experienced the problems money can cause within a team / group, although having said that, I would still be willing to give. But yeah, it`s alot of responsibility for someone to take on. But I love the idea of fund raising, and promoting TH at the same time, and maybe the occassional collection when something, such as the dvd watching, comes up. There`s still loads we can do to. Every little thing helps. For example, me and my mum play Second Life alot. She has set up a vendor so that everyone who visits her land and home is given a notecard with all the TH websites on it. Lol. It`s just a small thing but it keeps people talking about TH, even if some people won`t like them. I mean, I got to hear about them because someone hated them lol! And I`ll so get my lil brother to make cakes for the meet up. ;D Don`t worry people - he actually makes yummy cakes lol
