No, Tokio Hotel were not mentioned in Kerrang magazine reader's poll. We were ignored.
Be prepared for it to happen with NME too.

Argh! They can't do that! How can they just ignore a band? Think 30STM have slipped them a bit of cash to do it?

These polls, as far as I'm aware, are not just based on votes. If they were, TH would never be beaten in votings - we're just too dedicated and large a fanbase. But it also takes into account sales and activity and because TH have not had any real sales or activity in this country, they do not get a real chance at winning these UK based awards. Give it time. Personally, it is annoying. We put a lot of time into voting, but it is important. There was a negative comment on the NME blog about the TH street team voting all together and I showed it to one of TH's management. I don't think he would mind if I quoted part of his response: ...in the end they do recognize Tokio Hotel....and the ambitious fans voting for them. Right now it's bad timing in general because TH can't really win any of the votings. But what will stick in these peoples brain - Tokio Hotel is out there (...and even when people comment in a unpleasent way about TH it results in additional exposure).
Right now we are building the foundation in the UK and every little journalist who actually thinks about TH once in a while is one that might help us as soon as TH becomes bigger and bigger (in single & album sales). It's a lot of little steps that we are making right now but it will help in the end.... I think what he said is important for us all to remember, so do not get discouraged as it's really important! Tokio Hotel not getting coverage form Kerrang and NME is just making me more determined really. What he said is really quite inspirational, if that's the word. He's letting us know that they aren't giving up on making TH big in the UK, and we never should either. Not that I was planning to....

no-one signed this in a while and i wasn't even a member when all the shizz with K! was going down
but you know i think sometimes things like that bring us down, but in the end its a cause worth fighting for. we all love TH they mean alot to us, and maybe it will just take a little longer. But if it works out the way we want, we'll get the benefits we deserve. and when K! and NME realise what a HUGE opportunity they missed out on, they'll be kicking themselves. and i, personally, will laugh. LOUDLY.

I agree Skye. The more they refuse to accept TH, the more determined it makes me. I know, from first hand experience, that a small group of people can make a HUGE difference, if they are commited enough. And we are committed. ;D Eventually TH will conquer the UK, but they`ll do it alot faster if us lot keep banging on about them in the meantime! ;D

LOL. I only just saw this thread, havn't been on here for ages! I agree with midori, we shouldn't give up, every time you see something in one of the mags - e-mail them or write to them and let them know you saw it and you liked (or disliked if it was bad), what they wrote and ask for more TH. If we can just keep it going, it will help. On the down side I remember e-mailing all the mags listed in the beginning of this thread with the issue number and quotes from the article saying that I liked this and wanted more TH and I didn't get a response form any of them :/ Nevermind.... just keep trying everyone!
