Apocalypto impressed me a lot. I loved it. Unfortunately, I've only seen it once so far though I would have liked to see it more often on the big screen. I'll definitely get the DVD when I'm in Germany next (always try to get my DVDs with German on them because I'm thinking about family and friends, it's a bit frustrating sometimes because there are always good sales on here but never enough DVDs that have German). Anyway, I didn't think 10,000 BC could live up to Apocalypto but would still be interested in watching it. Jumper comes first though. ;D Do you think you'll manage to go and see it, Anna? *lol*
I don't even want to watch the Japanese original of The Grudge. I love Sarah Michelle Gellar but watching the version with her in it freaked me enough. Certainly not a film I have to watch a second time.
I watched Sweeney Todd last time I went to the cinema and really enjoyed it. I like Tim Burton films in general. Then there's Johnny Depp and well, it's Johnny Depp. I was well impressed with his singing and how effortless it seemed to work with his acting.

i havnt seen Tim Burtons movies either due to my absolute laziness, but ive seen Jumper und i must say it is a MUST see, its soo awesome und da main actor that at this very moment i cant remember his name is sooo HOT! but my favourite movie of all time even though its about a year old now is Lady in the water, i find it really original und the director/writer must have a really big imagination to have written this story

I've seen Jumper today! Yes, I braved the snow, waited for the stupid bus (on a bank holiday) and made it just in time to catch the trailers... firstly there was another one with Hayden and Jessica Alba (love Jessica Alba) called Awake. Woah, looks pretty intense! I didn't all get it because I was just sitting there thinking "OMG!" He plays some rich guy who needs (heart?) surgery and the anaesthesia doesn't work (like you hear about people that can feel while they're being operated on). However, the docs discuss if they should let him die because of his money etc. There were scenes where he was outside of his body a bit like in Eternal Sunshine On The Spotless Mind when Joel relived his past with Clementine. It all looked really creepy and weird. Might be worth watching. Then followed a trailer for the new M. Night S.... guy (the 6th Sense and Signs director, you know *lol*) with Mark Wahlberg. Forgot the title now but it was about him and people of his town/city losing all contact to the outer world because everybody had died and no one knew what had been going on and why the others all had died and why they were still alive. Who knows what this will be about. Kind of unsettling, too, but you would expect that, wouldn't you? Then James MacAvoy and Angelina Jolie and some weird, freakish action-assassin film. Looked like lots of action, fast-paced and special effects. By then I was already kind of exhausted before Jumper even started. ha ha. And then this trailer for Speed Racer came up... Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, John Goodman. Some family film, real life actors mixed with lots of animations, mainly for the car racing. Ha ha. Not sure about that. Anyway, Jumper is really good. I don't know why so many people have a problem with Hayden as an actor (surely he was good in Life as a House!). He might not be brilliant but he's not as bad as some people make him out to be. He's just a bit more... subtle in an inconspicuous kind of way... if that makes sense. I think he delivered a good performance and really liked it. Jamie Bell, however, was brilliant as usual. I just love him. Rachel Bilson was cute. I would've liked to see some more of Diane Lane though. The special effects were great, the story interesting but somehow it still felt like there could be more to come. Some parts felt a bit "open"but not in a bad way.
After that I watched The Spiderweb Chronicles. That was quite cute and entertaining. Obviously it's more like a family/kiddies film but still nicely done and I enjoyed it.
I just wonder, in general, why don't British people laugh in cinemas? ;D Ok, obviously there's laughter when you're watching a comedy and there's always the odd laughter during every film but in general people barely laugh. First I thought it must be me but then my friend Ina lived with me in York for two years and she noticed the same. It was actually nice to have someone to laugh with during a film (not meaning constant, annoying laughter). She moved away six months ago and now I'm laughing on my own again... feeling a bit weird because it makes me think that I'm laughing at things that aren't actually funny.

I haven't been to the cinema in ages. In London I belong to the Prince Charles Cinema, which is amaaazing. It's just off Leicester Square, near China Town, and they show second run or cult films. It's two floors, with a bar in the basement and quirky snacks, and they play weird but always awesome music before the films start. It's SO expensive to go to a normal cinema in London, but with membership it's only £1.50, so I go all the time there if I've got a little bit of time to kill. <33
Anyway, I saw "I'm Not There", that Dylan biopic and thought it was brilliant. Cate Blanchett was so good as Bob Dylan--I didn't think she could play him convincingly, but she was actually the best Dylan of the bunch. The little boy who played him was very good as well, though. I think Todd Haynes has come a long way since the Velvet Goldmine, which was visually gorgeous and had a lot of good ideas, but didn't fully come together like it might have.
I also rewatched "The Dreamers", which I adore. It's a very sort of closed-in film, not claustrophobic exactly, but you get the sense that the characters exist in their own bubble, completely separated from the rest of the world. The decision to set the film in 1968 Paris and then exclude so much of the outside events and politics from the bulk of the film was really fantastic, because it only highlights how completely wrapped up in each other the three main characters were. Of course, they can't keep the real world at bay forever, but I can't really talk about the movie in less vague terms without spoilering it. It's one of my favourite films, though.

I haven't seen any films in ages XD I stick to the old ones, mostly horror movies. Anyone like Donnie Darko? I completely love it! The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a total fave of mine too XD Kraig-x I love Donnie Darko! It just still confuses me everytime I watch it haha. I first saw it at college and I had to write about it. Then yesterday I bought it on DVD for £2.00, what a bargain!
