And Claire, i know someone who has it worse. A mate of mine is 16 and already is um...practically COMPLETELY grey. lmao. Poor bloke. It runs in his family, since his uncle went partially bald at 19! XD Ouuuch. i know a girl who's about 14 now and she started getting grey hair when she was 8!! ooohhh! SKYYYEEEE!!!!!!! i had a weird dream last night and you were in it!...you were cutting my hair!!! =] |

Just dragging this old thread back.
Well, you'll all be glad to know I didn't take your advice. LMAO. I didn't really want to pay salon prices for something I wanted to try out, so I'm having a go myself.
I bought bleach and peroxide and dyed the tips today. It is now a kind of weird orange colour. Based on my research, I am going to dye it again in the hopes that the orange will go and will leave a yellow colour. I will then apply the toner for that white platinum look.
In theory. LOL.
I will keep you updated!

Claire! I bleach y hair, and the first time I did it, it went orange, then I did it again and it went white for about 2 days, and then faded to what it is now. If I miss bits when I bleach it, the bits I miss go orangey though. After my prom I'm not going to be bleach blonde anymore though. I'm getting some purple and black in with the blonde for prom, and then after I' going entirely purple for a bit, and then brown or black until I get bored. Ack my hair is in such bad condition haha, it's probabaly going to all fall out and I'll end up needing a wig. |

Awesome Anyone know if dye will actually cover the bleach in my hair? Is it true that it makes your hair porus, so the dye doesn't stay in? |

Thank you I'll get the purple and black in my hair on the morning of my prom then, so it's nice and not-faded haha But until then I shall just be completely blonde |

Did you bleach the tips just in front, or all across, Claire? That sounds cool.
-I've had my hair a lot of different colours. I was naturally dark-blonde until high school. Then I separated out some pieces and dyed the rest of it dark brown, so it was brown with blonde chunks. Then I went through a phase of putting a pink chunk in--I copied Steven Tyler's 'Pink'-era hair, god knows why.
Then I bleached it a really pale blonde. For a while it was light enough that I could actually just colour really punky accents in with highlighters or markers. Probably not good for the hair, but it was really easy and looked cool. haha.
-Then I put it back to brown again.
-Then somehow I accidentally bleached it (I think someone switched the hair dye bottles in the package, because I DEFINITELY bought brown dye but ended up with blonde hair)
Annnnnd then for some reason I decided spur-of-the-moment one night to dye my hair from a really pale blonde to blue-black by myself, then changed my mind midway through and tried to wash it out. Ohhhh man, that was bad. I had to have it color-corrected twice to a really punky, reddish-brown, which I didn't like but was pretty much the only viable colour after what I'd done.
That was in 2004, and since then I've pretty much left the colour alone. If I want to change the colour, I just get extensions. It's fun because I can change the length and colour of my hair a lot without it getting brittle.

good luck with the bleach Claire!
I'm about to dye mine cyber purple again! Its faded from dark brown to sort of lightish red brown cos of the prebleached bits so the purple should pick up pretty well!
