DOGS UNLEASHED FANACTION!

I had an awesome time at the Worcester Animal Rescue Shelter on Saturday! ;D I dragged my friend Gina along We walked some of the dogs, played with them in the exercise pens and spent some time fussing the kitties I was actually really happy to see how many people regularly turn up on the weekends to make sure the dogs get plenty of exercise and love. I was so happy (as its also a great form of exercise for me who may or may not be carrying an extra pound or two ) that I'm gonna do it again next weekend! With Gina again but this time Amiee is coming along too! ;D

No pictures yet though - I took them on my phone and need to dig out the cable Cant wait to see some of you other guys pictures!

Can't wait to see your pics and really happy that you're going to go back! It's also nice to hear that there are other people going along and volunteering at weekends!

This is such a fantastic project This is the first time I've properly read through this thread, but luckily I've pretty much already taken part, summer is usually the time of year I get even more involved with the SSPCA than usual because of the 'dogs die in hot cars' campaign, they send me flyers, posters, etc every time there's a new campaign (usually in summer for the hot car awareness and then in winter because of the number of abandoned pets) so I hand them out and put posters up anyway

I saw your pics on FB Amiee, they're great! Looks like you guys had a really good time with the animals.

You can post them here if you want to? If you'd rather they go sraight to the website then I can save them of your FB? It's up to you, but please feel free to put them here as well ;D

I'll also post them on the Dogs Unleashed organizers forum tomorrow, so they can add them to their collection of everyone who took part.

sorry for late reply i havent been on here till today, thanks Liz! i know its probs too late to participate now, but i would still love to volunteer at a dogs shelter when i can

Oh I luv that you guys did all this. I unfortunately wasnt aware of it so didnt get involved but I maybe should next time. Im all for animal rights and hate hearing about the things people do to them. Really if us humans think we are the superior species we should be protecting them since we have the means.

The good thing about this kind of fanaction is that everybody can always get involved whenever it suits them. Sure, we've had a day for it but like Bee and Amiee also went on a different day everybody else can do, too. This is something that can be done whenever and wherever. We don't need a fixed dated to get involved in this.

If anybody goes to shelters and spends some time with the animals or does something else, e.g. adopting a dog, you can always post it here so we're all keeping this "updated" and in mind.
