This is a rather nice interview. ;D I have to hurry to get to work so sorry if I put any spelling mistakes or so in the translation.

“THREE GIRLS GOT INTO MY HOTEL BED BY CLIMBING THROUGH THE WINDOW…“ - BILL KAULITZ
… AND DADDY TURNS UP WITH A BASEBALL BAT: THE INSANE WORLD OF TOKIO HOTEL
It is hardly necessary to introduce Tokio Hotel, however, it is probably about time to take them seriously: what started out as a story about a band of school boys in 2001, became the biggest German pop phenomenon and export hit since Rammstein. Fans in France and America also anticipate the third album “Humanoid” (available from 2.10., Universal Music) with feverish cheeks, the US [magazine] “Rolling Stone” celebrates the 20-year-old twins Bill (vocals) and Tom Kaulitz (guitar) as style icons. The twins briefly give the ultimate guided tour through their universe to GQ.
Tokio Hotel’s style
Bill: I preferred leaving the house with make-up on and the full works even long before the formation of the band. [Back] Then I didn’t feel like in disguise but totally like myself. However: When I have a few days off these days, which happens rarely, I just like to sit on the couch - unshaven, without make-up and in tracksuit trousers. It feels good for a change.
Tom: I’ve always had these urban hairstyles - in the past dreadlocks, now cornrows (African braided hairstyle). I’m all for low-maintenance hair: one gets up in the mornings and doesn’t have to style their hair to begin with.
Tokio Hotel’s idols
Bill: I’ve always had a liking for vampire films, liked Nena and David Bowie. However, I never thought: That’s what I want to look like one day. I didn’t know the Japanese Visual-Kei-scene (fashion movement inspired by comics and punk) we’re often getting compared with.
Tom: I also like tough guys, Steve McQueen or Robert DeNiro. That’s what I want to look like when I’m old! I could imagine that I’d be wearing a full beard then.
Tokio Hotel and defiance
Bill: Our step dad picked us up in town with a baseball bat once because older guys had threatened to beat us up. We’ve already polarised when nine years old - and were aware of it. The more people got agitated with the dark make-up around the eyes, the darker they would be the next day.
Tokio Hotel and sex
Bill: Of course I could say to one of the security guys: “This one, her and her - get them backstage to me later on!” at concerts. But it doesn’t excite me. I just have to be really in love.
Tom: On the other hand, there’s no need for too many tricks to get with me… (laughs). For a while I took full advantage of it [and] had many brief flings going on. However, that’s just purely physical and doesn’t go any deeper.
Bill: One time I got to the hotel room and there were already three female fans lying on the bed. Of course the bodyguards went livid and threw all of them out. But those things just happen. The girls climb through windows.
Tokio Hotel and privacy
Tom: We’ve been living reclusively for a few years. If we ever step outside the door, it’s almost only with bodyguards. We’re not used to spontaneously going out and walking around anymore. Not once have I met somebody on the street just like that over the whole past year.
Tokio Hotel and business
Tom: Our new album is also a thank you to our German fans who remained loyal to us while we toured the world. By the way, we’re not bothered about constantly having to deal with people that are much older than us in everyday business life.
Bill: I totally enjoy being together with elderly people! I’d love to have a pensioners’ club - I’d meet with them for coffee every afternoon.
Bill Kaulitz - a quite hairy type of guy
Mini Punk
Bill wore a combination of Punk, Emo and “didn’t sleep well” on his head when Tokio Hotel scored their first number One with “Durch den Monsun” in 2005.
Porcupine
For the second album “Zimmer 483” Bill presented his all-around new hedgehog hairstyle that seemed to be inspired by Japanese mangas in 2007. Allegedly [it was a] coincidence.
Classy Rasta
The latest craze for the new record: “Humanoid”. Designer dreadlocks with light extensions. It has got nothing to do with reggae - Bill just wanted a change.
