I'm honestly not bothered. Yeah, it's different with just Bill on there, but it's their choice. So whatever :/ It fits with the theme they have. Maybe it's not the best, but it's a new idea & they are trying new stuff out.
Come on guys; it's just one album. Not like theyl be doing this forever. At least theyre reinventing themselves and stuff instead of just staying the same. Difference is good.
We really need to stop complaining.

Actually in some cases difference is a bad thing, many bands have split up because of one person getting all the attention now I know Bill being the frontman he is going to get most of the attention but putting him on an album on his own could be a bad move for them it may not be it may actually prove to be a good thing with the amount of discussions people are having over it, it is generally creating publicity for them and people are talking about it more because of it so it may actually end up being a good thing.
And I wasn't complaining I was stating what I thought of the album cover and after reading what others have said about it I am not the only one that thought what I do, I know that other people have different opinions and they actually like it me I can't stand it and if that album was in a shop and I had no idea who it was I would just walk by it, it would not catch my eye at all and that is what an album cover is meant to do catch the customers eye and this simply wouldn't for me at least.
I am glad they are trying new stuff with the music and new looks and stuff but in my opinion this album cover could be a lot better.

Yep, I think you're right, Turner. It's something new for them and I'm glad it's not the usual standard album cover. Though I don't think we'll do too much complaining. We whether like it or not or are not that keen. Doesn't mean we couldn't live with it. ;D There's good and there's bad things. To some people they matter, to others they don't. As long as it's just a discussion without being offensive or spiteful to either the band or each other, I don't think it's a bad thing.
I find it curious that the German super deluxe edition or whatever it's called *lol* doesn't have the same album cover artwort but has got the Automatisch/ic picture.

Yeah, it's like they wanted to use a different one to make the super-duper special version unique, but ended up using the single cover which just sort of makes it look a bit cheap Well not overly cheap but not any more fancy.

I thought that this part from the French Dream Up article might be interesting for this thread:
It translates to something like this:
On this subject, what meaning do you give to the cover of your album? Georg: We wanted that this cover reflects all the songs. That's why we took Bill's face, imagined as the guinea pig of a futuristic experiment. He appears completely robotised, metallic and icy. Three years of reflection were necessary to develope this visual. Bill: Even though the role of leader of the group was given to me over time, it worried me to appear on the cover by myself. I don't try to put myself in front of or to outdo Tom, Gustav and Georg. But in the end, I'm satisfied with the visual result. It is the whole band that expresses itself through me.
