Poor, poor Gustav - those injuries look absolutely appalling, it was obviously quite serious.
Perez has posted the incident on his blog. The comments really annoyed me: things saying that he deserved it, and Gustav had clearly done something to provoke him etc.
No-one knows the full story yet, so I don't think anyone should be making conclusions.

I watched the Punkt 9 & Punkt 12 reports and it basically goes like this (not a perfect translation, just roughly):
* The owner of the club said that Gustav was sitting there, not being agressive, totally normal like always and he wouldn't know how this situation developed * Gustav was talking to a girl when suddenly a guy, without any prewarning, started hitting him with two beer bottles * police are investigating whether it was a systematic attack by stalkers or haters, like the ones that mobilise people against the band on the internet, e.g. they showed a clip of a masked guy telling people to throw beer bottles at the band members should they see them * the news report also says the attack was obviously more brutal than expected previously * Sascha Wernicke, the guy that has been writing most of the BRAVO articles about TH since the very beginning in 2005 was interviewed and said that for a band like TH that has frontmen that polarise this much with outfits and hair styles, it's easy to get rude comments in a disco if you, as a mega star, are just hanging out like this * then the news report says that this time, out of all of them it was Gustav, the shyests and then Gustav talking, saying that he's just a quiet guy in general not only in interviews * police will take his statement this week, he's feeling better already but the scars will always remind him of what happened
I was always aware of the pure hatred against the band in Germany. I never understood it because it's just so extreme how consumed people are by it. Unfortunately it's hard to ignore and it always worried me but I tried to push the worries to the back of my mind. Now, that something like this did happen, I'm still speechless and shocked. This is just aweful and beyond words. I feel very sorry for Gustav and that he got hurt like that and was viciously attacked. He was very lucky though. It could've been much worse, even though it's still horrendous. I'm just glad it wasn't more severe (which seems a ridiculous thing to say, considering how badly he got hurt but I guess you know what I mean). This incident makes me really sad and I'm just hoping that this was the last time one of them got hurt!

I just saw this video, and am actually rendered speechless. It always seems to be TH that get bad things happening to them. Okay, it may just be because they're who I pay attention to most, but still. The fact that someone would do that to anyone -- famous or not -- is ridiculous, but for such a petty reason as not liking a band?
I just... don't even know. God, some people need their brains and their morals sorting out.

WHY? Some people are mad. You have terrorists terrorising, and that's nuts enough, doing it in the name of religion, but attacking a drummer from a band for teenagers for no particular reason is lunacy. They're rather messed up. Don't they have better things to do with their lives than attacking drummers? The may have been drunk and disorderly, but I think one would have a little more sense than to hit an innocent over the head with glass.

Owwwwhh Poor darling Gustav... I couldnt understand how anybody would want to hurt him. If you were gonna beat up a band member surely you would go for Tom or Bill? Not poor little Gustav I hope he gets better soon *Sniffs*

Uh, no. Gustav is a member of Tokio Hotel, if it's the guys who I think it is, then they'd go for anyone out of the band.

It's a shame that the young generation of today are growing up into a culture filled with violence. What's more, is I'm disgusting that my generation seems to be the one's who beat people down.

Not poor little Gustav I hope he gets better soon *Sniffs* There's no valid reason for anyone to want to hurt ANY of the band members. Bill and Tom don't deserve it anymore than Gustav or Georg.
I know you aren't saying they 'deserve' it as such, but there aren't levels of who should get hit and who shouldn't. NO ONE should ever be hurt like this. Not Bill, not Tom, not Georg, and no, not poor Gustav either.

It's an actual disgrace my mother was upset, she likes Gustav the best she went on a rant around the house I know not lots of germany like Tokio Hotel (I know lots of german girls who love them still) but its the fact that someone coud just hit them because of a band there in personally being in a band doesnt mean you know that person automatically i think maybe they should re-think what they did.

Honestly, I really feel for those guys, I mean, all they wanna do is make their music and they've hardly done anything to upset anyone when in the public eye (behind the scenes could well be a completely different matter though, but I doubt they go around picking fights), and yet they get this constant abuse from haters and even more so in the last few months, while trying to complete their new album. It makes no sence, but then again, what does? Some many fucked up people about. Gustav is the quietest member, so why attack him? Just urgh. I wanna give him cuddles *__*

well so far we don't even know what the reason was for the attack.
not that any reason would explain or even excuse this but it musn't necessarily have been that Gustav is a member of TH, maybe the guy was agressive and Gustav was just in his way or he knew the girl Gustav was talking to or whatever.
the police has evidence of who it was now, there is a video in which you can't see the fight itself but Gustav and the guy. there are quite a few witnesses so I feel confident that everyone who deserves to be punished will be punished.
the owner of the club said that he will identify the men who were in the fight, he had already warned them about their agressive behaviour before btw.
from the start of TH's success there always have ben threatenings and I vividly remember that I was afraid to go to a concert because there was an action organised by punks,metal-heads etc(well that's what their flyers said) and there were quite some on the day of the concert but I tell you this: it was rather amusing, they shouted things we've heard a million times before, talked to us and asked us for things like hairspray and something to drink etc. nothing happenend. once we were inside they burne some blankets and stuff that was left outside but that was it. but beforehand everyone was really terrified, the police knew about it and was there.
this incident now is really shocking after I had this experience because from then on I never took all this very seriously.
