It's always a jolt to move to a new forum with new people and new ways of doing things. And the last thing I would like to think is for anyone, especially new people, to feel like we're awful and strict.
One thing that benefits you when you are new is to sort of lurk around and figure out how a place works, because all forums are different. But, sometimes just learning by trial and error can work too, you just have to listen to what other members tell you and what mods tell you.
One thing that we have here is GREAT members and a relaxed atmosphere, so I think that in time you will get used to the way it works and make some awesome friends. Give it a chance. Staying on topic isn't really a huge request and aside from that all we ask is that you consider everyone else when you post. It's really just a matter of respecting each other. The rest falls naturally.
