erm yes vaguely - you can get them from £50 but they aren't so good. They kind of go from that up. Some bows are £1000.
I have a cello which is by a firm that makes violins too - they got bad press so are cheap but are really good now. I'll run and have a look at the make so I can find that for you in a sec. They are good instruments for beginner to intermediate players and my cello has lasted a good time.

ahah probably £300-£500? i have no idea lol, you know how newcastle got relegated yesterday? well my dad has not ate, drank or moved since it happened.. honestly, hes like a bum. hes still wearing the newcastle top and everything. hes so annoying ahaha, he scares me |

I love Leyla's sig too! The violin make is Stentor. I have had a quick look for sellers online cause I don't know the prices of violins myself and www.umbrellamusic.co.uk/productdetail_234.aspx seems to sell it for a resonable price though I have never bought from there myself whatsoever. The thing itself is www.stentor-music.com/catalogue/html%20strings/2.htm and I can say that Stentor is in general brilliant for cellos to grade 5/6 and I'd assume violins to be similar. Anyone know how much they cost ? ;D Depending on how long your arms are (different sizes), and how much you want to play -my first violin was £60, then I had a £250 one but now I have a £500 one and a decent electric one too. More expensive violins make a better noise. Then when you've got a violin you need a bow and again - more expensive bows make better noise! But starting off you won't get a good sound quality in about your first year of playing. So yeah. Need any more info just pm me! xxx |

I want to actually get somewhere with instruments. I've been playing a brass instrument for six years and haven't got a single grade. And my teacher has said that because I have braces she's not going to give me one until next year. (I hate the instrument and my parents bought me a second hand one because my dad insisted it was cheaper, when in actual fact it was more expensive than a brand new one.)
My friends play strings and I love them to pieces but I can't get lessons through the school as I already get them for brass. So everything has to come out of my money. I'm looking for a relatively cheap one so that I can get better and buy a good one. ^^
