I was thinking about how TH are struggling to break the UK and stuff, and that Ready Set Go didnt do too well and wasnt played on many music tv channels and stuff, and (dont hit me,) but I think its kinda a good thing.
I mean, obviously we want them to come and play gigs here and stuff, but think about it, in Germany and most of Europe they had overnight success, they're known to everyone, whether they like them or not and we've all seen the vids on YouTube of crazed fans queueing for days outside gigs and pulling at the guys when they try to get to their van.
I think that they will have to work hard to get recognition in the UK and that will do them good, they will know that they have dedicated fans who want them here, but at the same time they will have to start from the beginning again, playing small venues, doing interviews and promos and things. It means we will be able to see them in a smaller, more intimate venue and wont have to fight millions of other people for tickets. I'm sure that will come eventually, but I think it will do them good to know that they still have to work for things, give them a goal instead of just conquering the country first time, and the fans they make here will be real fans, not just people jumping on the bandwagon because theyre the "next big thing".
Just thought i'd share that, anyone else agree?

I agree completely, we're all going to love the smaller gigs, because, I don't know lol, smaller gigs are better. Then when they start having the massive gigs, we will go to them too, and we will have experienced Tokio Hotel in so many different ways, because I'm sure they will perform differently in a bigger venue than a small one. I think Tokio Hotel will appreciate their UK fans, because they know they like them for their music, and are not just following a craze like you said

I agree actually because over here they can have a bit more privacy without fans waiting outside for them everywhere they go =] When I went to France nearly all the TH magazines had gone and there were like 30 of them :0 I'd like them to come to the UK but I don't want the UK to be that obsessed with them. =] I like being kind of unique

Hey me to, but at the same time critics etc need to be proved wrong and the UK has to bee seen as having accepted TH and lovin them, yeah smallers gigs are good. Be we do need more fans to get any gigs at all TH need enough of a fan fourse here in the UK to think a gig is "worth it" I mean the London gig may have scared them as 90% wernt British.. but thats an entire story in itself!

I love LOVE the smaller gigs having experienced both when it comes to Tokio Hotel, but we will forever be fighting and competing for tickets against European mainlanders. They know a good opportunity when they see it. That's fair enough - I've been to France to see them and I'm going to Slovenia in March, but the UK will always suffer because TH will never have people going to their gigs who just want to try it out...see what TH are like, etc, as anyone might with a new band.
There's also the added fact that TH are in demand all over the world. They don't have time to spend long periods over here and work at building a fanbase. If it doesn't work out for them on a second run, the chances are they will stop coming here and hope that as they catch on elsewhere (like the US) we will follow suit.
It's kind of weird because TH are so big elsewhere. I know a lot about what goes on behind the scenes and to be honest what would actually be better for us as fans is if they did well quickly here. The fact that RSG did relatively poorly and they haven't done anything here since then should indicate that.
Which is why the street team works hard and does their best to increase their UK profile and fanbase. So if you have any ideas of how we can reel in UK fans, let us know!

I think if they toured as a support act for another band it would help them a lot. I dont know if their management would think they're below that now or something, but I always wondered why they hadnt done that yet, its a sure-fire way of getting your name and music out to people who might not have heard of you yet. I'd love to see them support AFI personally, the AFI guys know of TH and they have a huge fanbase, but I dont think that'll be happening any time soon!

I agree, i think they may actually prefer being somewhere were they can go out of the house and not be chased by hundreds of screaming girls! but i think that it is true that they cant spend a lot of time working here, i mean its not like they need to get recognintion over here... they already have the whole of europe! so if they find it difficult in the UK they probably will just move on, & small gigs are absolutly amazing, although ive never seen TH other small gigs ive been to are always more intimate and i come out absolutley satisfied, because you have a connection with the band that you dont get when theres thousands of you. If we work really hard and they do too, im sure we will eventually get somewhere ... ;D

=P I think if they make it big in the UK, then they'll have acheived something. And the boys don't look like the type to just give up! They already say they love the UK, so they should hopefully come back! =]
Also my friend calls them Take That because their logo looks like the Take That logo XP

My two best mates are male, and they dont get the TH thing at all! In my living room, i've got like a sticky out wall where the chimney is and there's a huge TH poster on there. They make me cover it up when they come over, they call Bill, "Belinda" and Tom "the wigga", Georg "emo kid" and Gustav is just "the drummer". Although they know who's who, so they're learning!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 'the wigga'....dare you to call him that to his face^-^
I think the idea above of touring with another band is great. I personally would love to see them tour with HIM but 'it ain't ever gonna happen!' Sometimes I think the management just expected England to fall to their knees with TH, perhaps they forgot or didn't know we are the chav-central of the world. Either way, they have to come back and try again, I refuse to travel to Slovenia every 5weeks to see them. x x x

lol yes england is def. Chav-Central especially where i live i would like to see TH support someone but... i think the problem with that would be woudlnt they want to tour with another german band >? i mean it would be hard for them to be with people who didnt speak the language 24/7 because they would have to use an interpreter ALL the time... and if they tour with someone german than were back where we started because britain wont accept them x

Our chavviness does count against us. At least half the young people of this country will call them gay and write them off. Urgh, sometimes I hate our societal disfunction. There's so few chav's in France for instance, which is why TH managed to get so popular. Claire
